Has anyone had a problem with the rubber gasket molding? I have a GE front loader but the gasket has molded. Can't get rid of it. Exploring other options

Do you mean that mold is growing on the rubber gasket? If so, yes, many people with front-load washers have this problem. There are a variety of ways to fight it... for a start, you have to leave the washer's door open between washes. You may have to clean the gasket and all around it every few months -- it's not fun.

This is true of several brands of front-load washers, not just GE.

Good luck!

I have had my washer over a year now. I keep the door open between washes [like Bob suggested] but I also keep a small Shammy on the washer so that I can wipe it down each time I use the machine. It is important to get inside the folds so that water doesn't stand. I have not had a problem with mold or odors. Good luck to you.
