Makes the Voyage Anywhere Easy with Texting and Navigation

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

Like many families, right around Christmas time, my husband and I used our yearly Verizon credit as well as took advantage of the rebate offers to purchase new cell phones.  I was torn between the LG Voyager and the enV2, my husband chose the Voyager and I chose the red enV2, hoping to get the best of both worlds.

Favorite Features of the LG Voyager:

  • two big screens, inner and outer
  • big keyboard for easy texting
  • several sound settings for alarms, messages, text
  • takes good pictures
  • easy to use touch screen that doesn't mess up
  • holds the charge a long time, quickly recharges

*Features I Don't Like on the...

The LG Voyager VX10000 is a very well-designed touch screen phone. It has a pretty good sized keyboard without making the phone look too bulky. The keyboard is very spacious and comfortable. The phone actually feels sturdy and the touch screen is easy to use. The display shows the time and battery life on standby. There are four main controls at the bottom of the display. They open the message menu, screen keypad, contacts list, and main menu. It's also really simple to set up shortcuts. There's a vibrate mode that you can adjust the setting for, which is pretty convenient. The phone has a microSD slot that supports up to 8GB of memory, and the phone comes with 180MB of memory already. Overall this is a very cool looking phone that might be a good alternative to the iPhone for some people.

I had the LG Voyager for 2 years. One of my main complaints with the phone is the responsiveness and quirkiness of the touch screen. Yeah, it's so cool that it has a touch screen, but the touch feature is horrible. It's unresponsive, and you need to touch it a certain way to get it to respond (albeit, slowly). I can't stand it. The Apple ipod touch is WAY better in terms of touch responsiveness and user friendliness. Aside from that, everything was great. The phone had everything that I needed, and texting was a breeze with the keyboard. It seemed to lose battery power much quicker toward the end of my 2 year contract than it did at the beginning, but that seems to be the case with most electronics of this sort. I would recommend this phone. I've had different LG phones over the course of 7 years and this one didn't disappoint! Reliable phone, built well, and affordable--the touch screen feature needs lots of work though.

Cool Phone but pricey!

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5

I recently upgraded from the lg env to the voyager.I was very excited about the touch screen.I had also heard about mobile tv.The inside has the querty keyboard for texting. It is a nice phone. But the price isn't that great.IT was well over $500.And I was very dissapointed to find out, after I purchased it out of pocket without any discounts, that there is not mobile tv access in my area.So it is really just an expensive phone with a touch screen.I like it.The keypad on the inside of this is easier to use than on the env.The buttons are just a bit bigger.I do use the touch screen but not nearly as much as I thought I would.I do really like that you can choose the font that everything on the phone is typed in.One thing I love about the phone is that on the premier tier of the calling plan I am on you have unlimited access to the VZ navigator.I use this pretty much daily. The phone is sleek and very cool looking.I think I just expected a little bit more.

I LOVE MY VOYAGER!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I've owned my LG Voyager for about a year and a half now; I love it more and more everyday!  I'm actually getting close to my upgrade with New Every Two through Verizon Wireless, and I don't want to give my phone up!  I can text, take pictures, record videos, record sound, and send all my media to my friends and family!  I bought the phone so I could own a touch screen phone with QWERTY pad.  I also have some mp3 songs that I listen to every now and then.  The best part about it is my ability to watch VCast videos.  I went traveling about a year ago with my son.  He was 2 at the time and if you are a parent, you know how difficult it is traveling with small...

Expensive phone just for an OK phone

Overall
Rated 2 out of 5

I believe that there are more cons than pros to this phone. Yes the phone does have a good camera and an ok battery life but the touch screen is one thing that makes the phone not so desirable. There is only a limited amount of things you can do to change the homepage on the phone and the fact that the phone is supposed to be known for being touch sreen capable the touch screen seems to be the one thing that messed up on me while using the phone. Also you would think that being able to use your phone as a MP3 player would be great but whenever I would try to listen to music with the phone it seemed to make the touch screen on the phone that much slower and music would freeze in the middle of the song while I would listen to the music which didn't make listening to music an enjoyable experience. Also the phone seems to be a little bulky and really causes it to be a bother while I have it in my pocket.

When it came out it was overrated

Overall
Rated 2 out of 5

I bought this phone in march of 2009 thinkin it was as cool as it was advertised at the time. Boy was I wrong, first of all that touch screen is a joke its hardly touch sensitive and if you dont always have the lock on when your not using it anything will set the screen off so it dials calls or opens menus. The cover for the connector to recharge was always getting stuck so now theres a bunch of scratches on the phone from trying to pry it open. I suppose alot of the touch screen problems were to be expected since at the time there wasn't as many touch screen phones as there is now and the keyboard is always nice to have but dialing the phone from the touchscreen is a pain because sometimes it wont pick up on what your pressing or the wrong number key comes up.

Durable

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

My previous phone was a chocolate that I bought from verizon and i HATED it!  That was by far the worst phone I have ever had.  The sliding feature would stick, the button locations were not practical and towards the end it would randomly shut off and not give me text messages.  Since then I made a very wise investment with the voyager phone.  It is night and day the differences between my old phone and this higher quality superior new phone.  I was trying to get something that I liked that overall had all the features I was looking for.  This phone had buttons that were small but not so tiny that you didn't hit three buttons at a time.  Also it was a hybri...

you get what you pay for

Overall
Rated 2 out of 5

I have been with verizon wireless for a couple of years now.  This upgrade I decided to go with a touchscreen phone and what a mistake.  My last phone was indestructable.  I threw it, went mountainbiking with it, slammed it in the trunk of my car.  So now I upgraded to the LG voyager with titanium rim.

So when I touch the screen it doesn't always pick up what you want.  with your face pressed up against the screen it mutes it when you don't want it to and you end up losing a call.  People think you hung up on them when you finally find that it is muted the call is disconnected.  They give you the option to lock the screen but that button doesn't alwa...

This phone is great for two years, then it's down hill from there

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

I have had this phone for two years now. Its great because it has a touch screen in the front which is good for fast access to things. It also has a flip open key board which makes texing much easier you dont have to worry about your fingers hitting the wrong touch screen button. The camera ont the phone works well, but it could use a flash for when your in darker areas. Also the speaker phone could stand to be louder so you can hear people better but for general purposes it works fine. Since my phone has hit the two year mark though it has started to act up. When i plug the phone into the charger it will jump to voice command menu. Then sometimes while i'm texting the text will grop for no reason and i'l have to start again.

The Voyager is a great phone!

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

The LG Voyager is a great phone. I love the size of the physical keyboard. I kind of wish it also had the full touchscreen keyboard just as an option. Nevertheless, the physical keyboard is probably the best I've seen on a phone. I don't like the Blackberry's thin button keyboard, as they seem to small and clunky. Therefore, this phone at the time that I was looking was really the best choice from what was available to purchase. It would also of been nice if when using the full keyboard that it would have the auto-word ability which could make typing even quicker. As well as, auto-capitalization would of been nice. Having to press shift can be inconvenient to use all the time, if you prefer ...

Such a great phone- Insane that VW dropped it!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I got this phone at the beggining of 2009 and was floored by how user friendly it was! I adore the touch screen, the quality photos and videos, the menu is so easy to use, the FULL keyboard is amazing, etc! I loved my Voyager and only gave it up because the screen started going out in June of 2010. ONce I realized that Verizon Wireless had dropped the Voyager from its phone line up I was furious!! They supposedly have several phone that are like the Voyager but all the newer phones REQUIRE an internet package which is something I don't need on my phone and didn't want to raise my bill 10 to 30 extra dollars a month. The choices that they have now without a internet package are ridiculous and...

Great phone for texting and ok for web browsing

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

I recently got this phone because I wanted a qwerty keyboard and also internet access.

While I like the phone and it's functions, there are certain things that have driven me nuts thus far. Some of the cons to consider:

*The autolock feature which can be irritating on or off - can't find a happy medium

*some ringtones are so quiet you end up missing lots of calls

*speakerphone only works with keyboard open

*when texting or using speaker phone, you need to use the # key a lot. Because this is part of a qwerty keyboard, you have to hit two keys to access the # key, which is cumbersome, esp. when trying to use speakerphone

*Browser can be slow

*searching through contacts can be slow with the touchscreen

The Voyager is a very fun and intresting cell,

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

The LG Voyager is Great phone. It is great for kids and adults, with it full key board and very nice Mp3 it is great for kids. But on the adult side it has a nice GPS and big words made easy for anyone to use. Its a very reliable phone, its unique design give you extra room in your pocket. It a bit thick but its long face make it great. The touch screen is very responsive and has a lock feature to keep you from calling all your unwanted calls. Its camera works very well with zoom dark and night.

The Bad

The camera lacks such extra options as a flash and Wi-Fi. It has a video feature to the speeds are off a little but mostly works great.

Overall,Though we had some minor complaints here and there, the Voyager's sleek design, generous feature set and excellent performance make it the best LG messaging and multimedia phone by far.

Thank you for reading my thoughts of the LG Voyager,i hope my review will help you with your choose of phones.

LG Voyager: Adventure in Cell Phone Usage

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I tend to keep most products until they completely wear out. Rather than spend the extra money, I don't usually give in and replace what I own until it is thoroughly exhausted and unable to function the way I like. But there is one exception to my frugality, and that is electronics. I will buy a new phone, clock, CD player, etc., even when my existing model is still in functional, working order. Cell phones are no exception. I replace cell phones as quickly as the opportunity presents itself and this year's new phone is none other than the LG Voyager VX10000 Cell Phone, a trendy phone with plenty of features. Phone Commentary:LG Voyager VX10000 Cell Phone is one of a growing number o...
