Let's Get Valid

2

In November of 2010 my husband got me my first smartphone - LG Vortex (droid). Since he knew that I love LG products, he knew this is the one that I wanted. About 4 months later, I started having problems with it when it was saying that I was running out of internal storage and that my text messages were full. Off and on it still has had the same problems. I've gone in several times deleted the cache, cleared cookies and web history. As of today 9 months later, I am still having the same problems, along not being able to get to any of my voice mails. I have also had to reset my phone a total of 3 times, losing a bunch of apps because of the reloading of the phone. This is so aggravating!! I would only recommend this phone for someone who needs a smart phone but not use it a lot. I practically live on my phone and I need it to work, not get stuck constantly!

For a beginner smartphone, this phone is great. It is easy to navigate, easy to customize, and has all of the features you need. It responds to the touch well, and has plenty of room on the displays to add important functions to your home screens. It's an android phones, so you can download any android apps for it to specialize it exactly how you want it. I love the purple skin color option, rather than having to choose just a boring grey or black. The phone is also sleek enough that it can easily fit in my pocket. The phone lock and unlock is easy to use, but doesn't unlock itself unwanted. This is definitely a female friendly phone, though the guys would probably find it too girly for their tastes.

great beginners smartphone

Okay, I have to say, to me a phone is a phone. Meaning I make calls on it and sometimes text. Now since it seems everyone is texting, especially work related issues, I have had to text more often and now use my phone for more than just calling. That being said when my Casio G'Zone came up for it's end of life upgrade, I found myself wanting yet another durable, near indestructable phone and found that they had all risen out of my price range. Enter the LG Vortex with a two for one free special and now I find myself holding a mini pocket pc/phone instead of the old standby. First of all, the Vortex fits nicely in the hand and had a pretty good heft to it. It has a rubberized back which lets you get a better grip and holds if better than the old slick plastic phone backs. It is touch screen and very intuitive. Sound quality is good, picture is crisp and there are so many free apps, you can play with it until the battery dies. Cons: short battery life. My casio lasted 3 days on a full charge, this phone lasts sometimes a day, sometimes more. No flash for the camera? Why? Such and awesome Android 2.2 platform and only day photos??? 3.2 megapixels? Could be higher but it does take good day shots. Inability to delete preloaded apps. What if I don't want youtube? Sorry, it stays. So, in a nutshell, it's a good phone. I find myself playing trivial droid more than I should. It kills the battery, don'tcha know?
