Waste of money

2

I ended up with the LG Venus phone after my phone broke. My step-sister gave it to me. And it worked, for a while. The phone was previously used, so I guess it didn't owe me anything. The phone is a slider, so it started to break after some use. I've never been a fan of phones that slide, nor have I ever really used them either. So, maybe I was a tad too aggressive with it. The touch screen is either way too sensitive or not sensitive at all. Sometimes the screen you would have to smash your finger on it numerous times just to get it to do a simple task. Other times you'd touch it and it'd go crazy and start doing all sorts of things. The phone's battery was absolutely awful. You couldn't text/call anyone for more than twenty minutes or you'd have to have it plugged in. I'm not sure if this was a phone issue or just a fluke thing, but with the Bluetooth that we had hooked up to it... the phone would call the last person that we had previously talked to. It would do this all on its own, without us even touching the phone. Never figured out why it did it. Luckily, I only had the phone for a short period of time and then switched to something else. I wouldn't recommend this phone to anyone that wants to actually be able to use their phone.

It's okay

I had bought the Verizon Venus in December 2008, I thought that it was a really good phone until now. I've probably dropped it maybe 5 times since I've had it, and it randomly shuts off in the middle of phone converstaions or when you are trying to send a picture message, or even a text message. It freezes all the time, and you have to take the battery out of the back and put it back in just to get it to turn on again. When your talking on the phone the volume isn't loud enough to hear the other person, and you can't turn it up any higher. I will admit I love the camera on it. It's like an actual digital camera just without the flash. And the pictures are really clear, and good. I just can't stand how it randomly shuts off, and freezes all the time. And the people at the verizon store always tell me that it's nothing, although I'm sure it's something wrong with the phone, because phone's aren't supposed to just shut off.

The LG Venus is the best touch screen phone

5

The LG Venus is one of the best touch screen phones I have ever used.  The easy, readable screen is a plus for those of us in the late 40's age bracket.  The applications are so easy to use.  I use my phone alot to play games when I am waiting in line or just waiting.  The amount of memory this phone has and the ability to use a memory card makes the uses for this phone even better. I have used this as a mp3 player and have many songs on it and it still has alot of memory. It is also blue-tooth capable and that is an added bonus.  The ability to pair a blue tooth product with it is so easy.  It also has a calendar, a caculator, camera, video recorder and the ability to text message is so easy. One of the only drawbacks on this phone is that the screen needs to be protected at all times.  It is very easy to scratch the screen and the piece of plastic that wraps around the outside and I have not found anything that actually stays on the screen to keep this from happening.

Waste of Money

Phone looks great. Sleek and stylish. However, it broke apart after only a few months of general use. A single cable held the back and front pieces together so it could still be used after I taped it. Seems to be a fairly common problem with this model, but LG and Telus would not cover it under the 1 year warranty. Very disappointing because the phone was quite costly. * Apparently this model has now been discontinued... most likely because of its multiple defects. Don't waste your money.

I got the LG Pink Venus cell phone about a year ago.  My youngest daughter had gotten it about two months prior to me getting one.  I was looking for a fun cell phone to replace my old black boring Samsung cell phone.  I tried her phone for a day and liked it. I don't think I would chose it again if I had that option. After using the phone for a year I have found that it serves the purpose but has some annoying aspects for me. I keep the phone in a case on my belt and when the phone rings and I reach around to remove it, sometimes I accidentally hit a button and some functions occurs when I don't want it to.  I also find that the touch screen is somewhat awkward for me.  While I do not have large fingertips, I have to really be careful of what I touch.  I also use an iphone and find that touch screen much better in terms of accuracy.  I do like the features the phone has. I was able to personalize the colors and the size of the font, which helps to see the letters/numbers on the screen. And it is a pretty pink color.  When my contract is up, I will definitely be looking for a different phone.

GOOD for simple futures ;)

The LG Venus has the looks and the functionality of a mid-range music handset. It's basically a small touchscreen. In fact, the only real improvement the Venus has over the Chocolate is its touchscreen. Typically phones either go for a full touch screen or none at all;  The touchscreen allows for up to four soft key options, and can display context-specific buttons, such as displaying media controls during music playback.

Best phone I ever had

5

I just happened to get this phone when my old one broke, and I absolutely loved it.  I had the pink one, which is my favorite color.  The phone front however was covered with silver paint which chipped of completely in the first couple months and revealed the white plastic underneath.  Another problem is that verizon no longer carries this phone so if you want it, you have to special order it. The phone lasted over the two year warranty but towards the end I was having trouble talking to people.  THe phone iteslf however was easy to use.  THe color and graphics were amazing and it felt high tech without being too fancy.  It was small and compact, very easy to carry around.  It fits nicely in your pocket and has everything you need in a phone.  THe camera was good, though it doesnt have flash so you cant take pictures at night.  Overall it was my favorite phone and I'm kind of sad that I no longer have it.

The LG Venus is reliable

So after the tragic demise of my Chocolate II, a kind friend of mine offered me his old Venus. I gratefully took it but wasn't really sure if the phone was great cause I found the touch function quite strange. After time and getting used to, the phone was pretty cool and I learned to navigate it well. The battery life was below average but that may have been because the phone was already used for two years so I replaced it with an extended battery which kept it alive for a good one to two days of usage. The extended battery added about a third inch to my phone which I didn't really like but the phone itself with the normal sized battery was quite light and thin. I liked the feel of the back which was slightly gripped as it made the phone more comfortable to hold. Also, the camera was pretty good but for some reason whenever I attempted to zoom in on a picture that I had already taken, the phone would just shut off and restart. The only other complaint I have is that the silver trim on the sides of the phone completely chipped off and my phone had a white trim.

I have owned this phone for about 3 months and love it!

This phone is wonderful.  I have been using it for a few months now and just love it.  It is so easy for texting compared to some of the older phones I have used.  Very good sound qaulity as well.  I have even dropped the phone a few times and it still works like a charm.

Love this phone!!

I love this phone. I have the hot pink color, and my husband has the black color.  The back of the pink is the hard plastic like the rest, but the black's backing is a rubberized plastic, so it grips the slip cover better than mine does.  The charger is good, and we haven't had any problems with that part breaking like past phones we've had. One problem I had with it after I'd had it for about 6 months is the touch screen part went blank, and it wouldn't work.  Another time the phone would just keep turning off by itself in the middle of a call. Our service provider replaced the phone for free each time though. They told us the most common problem with this phone they see is the touch screen going out.  I've had this phone for over a year now, and it's still doing great. I've had no problem with texting or taking pics or videos.
