This is a great little phone and is a surprising improvement over the model that it replaced! My not quite 2 year old LG phone "died" 2 months before I was due to replace it so I headed for the Verizon store for help. They very kindly let me upgrade at the time (after examining my deceased phone to check for "user error"!) and I headed right over to the flashy new, copper-colored KRAZR that I had been coveting. Yes, I admit it, I am somewhat like a raven when it comes to cell phones- I'm drawn to the bright colors as if by some internal pull! Many phones were "on sale" and I spent about an hour holding all of them and comparing features. I guess the manager was worried about me at that point, because he came over and said, "Would you like a reccomendation?". My eyes blurred and my mind spinning, I was grateful for his assistance and replied that I would welcome any help he could provide! He pulled his phone out and showed me the LGVX8300 and told me that most of the employees had them and also bought them for their own families. Hhmmm, why would I want a dull, grey colored phone when I could walk out with a copper, blue, cherry or even a pink gadget in my fist? At that point, Eric, the manager told me to watch the Service Desk and see what phones were coming in for repair or were beyond redemption entirely- they were the hot colored numbers that I coveted! Disappointed, I told him that I'd have to make the effort to do without a cell phone for 24 hours and left the store to head for the library(copies of Consumer Reports) and for home, to do my research on the internet!

Well, the next day, I was back at the store and left with the grey LG phone, telling Eric that I'd try it for the 14 day period and would be exchanging it if I really didn't like it! My research efforts continued and everything I read supported what I was already learning- the LG item was a terrific phone and the eye-candy phones that I had wanted were being panned on all sites and in all publications.

I kept the LG phone and when it came time for the other 2 phones in the household to be upgraded (6 weeks later), I bought 2 more of the same mode and we all LOVE them!! I utilize the calendar and alarm features daily and the camera takes great photos and video clips! My only complaints, of you could call them that, are that there are some things that one can access on the phone that don't  seem to ever need to be reset (yet they are on there so they must be needed somewhere) and there are not a lot of manufacturer supported accessories available in the Verizon store. I did buy the 2-pack of stretchy silicone covers (I kept the blue and my daughter uses the pink) and found that they offer great protection for the phone itself and jazz it up a little bit( , in addition to feeling great in your hand) but I wish that they had other colors available since we had gotten used to looking for the different colored phones in the house!

The phone also acts as a great navigational device if you purchase the additional service-great for college visits when you are looking for the right location- and they are even "read" to you by the internal voice so you don't have to take your eyes off of the road to read the computer print out. My daughter just received the music kit for her birthday and, with the addition of an expansion card, will be using it as an MP3 player also ( some kindly study hall teachers permit them if they are kept low!), elminating the need to carry an extra device along all of the time.

The LGVX8300 may not be the flashiest little guy on the block, but it will be around long after the others have headed to the scrap yard! If you are looking for a full-featured, all around, reliable phone, look no further- this one will serve everyone in the family! Enjoy it!
