I've had the LG VX-8300 flip phone for about 2 years now. Verizon Wireless is my cell phone provider and I plan on keeping it that way. Their service is almost always reliable. My LG phone has been dropped, beaten and even rained on. Yet, it's still kicking. Sure, it's not fancy or all that cool looking... but it always works. I plan on crossing over to a Blackberry Curve on my next 2 year contract renewal this August. It's time. I want email access 24/7. I would get an Apple 3G iPhone but I just can't make myself leave Verizon for AT&T right now. The LG cell phone has been a good one but I'm really ready to upgrade and move on.

Update!

Instead of the Blackberry Curve 8310, I opted for the Blackberry Pearl Smartphone. I'm pretty pleased so far. I'll review my new Blackberry Pearl phone soon.

You're right, I think that its all about the towers.

Oh good! I'm glad AT&T works well for you. Unfortunately, in Chicago... AT&T does not perform as well as Verizon Wireless. I don't know if it's caused by a lack of AT&T towers or what? Very strange. I have several friends who use AT&T but constantly experience dropped calls, dead zones and occasionally they miss calls because their phone didn't even ring. Honestly, Verizon is amazing here... I get service in some elevators and many places where my AT&T-using friends don't have a single bar of reception. Sounds like it truly depends on the area you live in.

AT&T is excellent in my area. I've never had a problem. I LOVE the roll over minutes too. Right now I have 7,000 rollover mins. I took my AT&T phone (which is my personal phone) and my Blackberry for my company use (which is Verizon) on vacation recently to the hill country in Texas to hang out at the river and go tubing and my AT&T worked like a charm, the Verizon did not.

Looks like we are both chasing the BB Curve at contract renewal!

So, Verizon is THAT good, eh? I've been thinking about leaving Sprint. Been with them for about 8 years, but they don't seem to be keeping up with the times. Hmmmmmmm, Blackberry Curve!!!!!!

Dan and I both had this one for ages. Now he moved to the LG Dare and I have an LG Chocolate. I like this phone better than my Chocolate! It really is a good phone.

What a great review! You should see my old faithful cell phone which I've had for nearly five years -- I guess I'm just sentimental, I have a gazillion numbers programmed in there and I'm so used to how it works, etc. Thanks for updating me!
