Most HelpfulThe first week The Scoop was available I found myself rushing out to purchase one - in orange. My favorite thing about The Scoop was it just looked cool compared to the other cell phones on the market a the time. I really liked this phone when I first purchased it because it had all the basic features...
read full review »I go through Cell phones fast. I'm on my fifth or sixth one and I'm hoping that the LG Scoop is my last. I have the phone as a prepaid. I do have some issues with the phone. I can't send or recive picture messages and I still haven't been able to set up my voicemail. My phone also keeps shutting itself off when ever I'm in the middle of replying to a text message. The keyboard has to be my favorite part of the phone. Except the back button! If you push it for a second to long it will delete your whole message and you have to start over! I really hate that. Somtimes you don't even have to push it...
read full review »I bought my LG Scoop in June 2008. That means that were goinh on 6 months together. She has endured her fair share of abuse and still works well. My children are totally taken by it, this is where the abuse comes into play.
It is easy to use, program your settings, and I love texting now.
This is my first phone with a camera, however I own 3 digital cameras, but I think that it has great picture quality.
Design
The LG Scoop has an attractive candy bar design that hides its full keyboard behind its sliding front face. At 4.35 inches by 2.02 inches by 0.71 inch and 4.2 ounces, it's exactly the same size as the Rumor. That means it's a bit on the bulky side but still sturdy and portable. The Scoop comes in three colors: citrus, slate, and turquoise. We reviewed the slate model but the features are the same on all versions.
The 2-inch display supports 262,000 colors (176x220 pixels). As we said with the Rumor, it's not the most vivid display around but Alltel does a decent job with the nifty animated...
read full review »I'm not quite a cell phone queen, but on rare occasion do I go anywhere without my phone. I am a busy college student who texts regularly and needs to be in contact with people. I got the LG Scoop a little over a year ago and have already replaced it with another. It is a low quality phone in my opinion. I can't wait to upgrade and won't recommend it to any friends. It is a slide phone with a qwerty board. After limited use, I found that the screen sometimes had difficulty transitioning from the standard to the landscape format for qwerty board use. The screen went out on my first Scoop after...
read full review »My wife and I picked up new phones upon signing with Alltell wireless earlier this year. Aside from one or two quirks, we have been very happy with our LG Scoops.
The phone has an incredibly pleasant, candy bar design, with a sliding face that reveals a full keyboard beneath. The phone comes in a plethora of colors. I have the tangerine, and my wife has the violet one. We've both received compliments on the colors, and enjoy the unique look of our phones.
Celltop, Alltell's widget-like program is useful, and the scoop capitilizes on it by having an easy to access Celltop button, and screen layout...
read full review »The LG Scoop is not worth the money that you pay for it. The phone itself has a ton of features and they are all great. From celltop to an apps shop it offers just about everything you could want from a phone. It has a camera feature as well as a video camera feature. If you have a memory card you can even record hours and hours of video with sound. It also substitutes as an mp3 player, and with a memory card would hold hours upon hours of your favorite music. And the phone worked great for me for the first few months then started acting up. Like the screen would do weird things like half would...
read full review »The LG Scoop cell phone is my favorite phone that I have ever owned! I ordered the purple LG Scoop and the flip out keyboard is so awesome! I always get complements on how cute this phone is. The LG Scoop comes with a camera phone which I use a lot to send photos and take photos. The pictures turn out so clear and detailed! This phone is great for texting and I text on my LG Scoop more than I talk on it. Texting is fast and each letter has its own button which makes it even faster to text because you memorize where each letter is located on the keypad. The phone is very thin and hardly weighs...
read full review »The LG scoop phone is not the "newest" or hippest phone out there, but it does get the job done. It has a camera that also records short video clips. One thing that I found lacking about the camera was that is does not have a flash, so unless your taking your pics outside they may come out a little dark.
It does offer the slide out qwerty keyboard which is awesome for someone who loves texting. One thing I found lacking was the number keys are shared, so everytime you want to type a number you have to push shift first, which is a little annoying but not bad.
It offers internet access which...
read full review »I totally love my LG Scoop! So much that if I ever have to replace it I will only get another one just like it, I may change the color...lol! I wouldn't have another kind of phone now after the convenience of texting with this one. My daughters love it too and we all text our freinds with mine. The full slide out keyboard only took a short time to get used to, I thought I was pretty fast txting on my old phone...lol. This full keyboard is a breeze and I would'nt want to go to any phone without a full keyboard agian!
I know that the camera isn't supposed to be the greatest quality but I...
read full review »Well I do have the LG Scoop, Its a good phone except for a couple things on it. Sometimes the Keyboard will mess up and go slow on me. So i have to turn the phone off then back on again for it to start working. Other then that it is a very good phone. Long distance, callar ID, xm Radio (awesome), Camara, Camcorder, MP3 Player, and a whole bunch of other features with it. If you were planning on investing in one of these phones they are good except for the keyboard situation. So before you go out a purchase your next phone make sure its one you really have a interest in and will use...
