Great phone, especially for texting!

4

I have had this phone for about a year now and it's been great!  I don't text everyday, but when I do want to text, it's great!  On those rare occasions when I got text messages from my husband, my brother-in-law, or my tech savvy nieces, it was such a pain to respond with my old phone.  Since I've had this phone, texting is super easy and fun!  I feel like I've joined the rest of the world.  It's a slider phone, meaning it slides to the left to access the keypad with letters.  I recently started using my Blue-tooth headset with it, and it works like a charm!  It's light weight, has good sound quality, good lighting, and it looks good too!  I have only had one problem with it--that it turns off by itself sometimes.  I'm not sure why it's doing that, but it seems to happen when I haven't powered it off in a while.  I took the battery out the other day and it stopped.  Overall, I would say this is a good phone and I would recommend it to others!

The Lg AX260 is a neat phone.  It is excellent for those of us who does alot of txting.  It comes in handy when you want to capture that special moment and you do not have a camera handy. It also records video. If you are with Alltel, this is the phone to have.

Would never purchase this product.

I bought two for my two boys.  One lasted 6 weeks and the screen went blank.  After calling the company, they said it is a known issue with these phones.  But they wouldn't replace it.  After 3 months, the other one went bad.  Would never purchase this item.  Piece of junk.

I bought the LG Scoop in Janurary of 2009, first week I had it, had to send it back because the screen kept turning white, and the keyboard would freeze.  Here it is August, I have gone thru 4 Scoops, reason for this--I text to much using the keyboard.    Im not impressed with the scoop, infact Im anything but impressed with it.      My advise,  dont get it-

For a basic phone without extra features, it is perfect for me.

**This is a basic Samsung LG phone without many extra features, but that is on my phone plan. The phone itself actually allows internet access and shopping with several added features. The phone itself is a flip phone and is very sturdy. I have used others in the past that felt flimsy and this one is NOT. ** **This phone has lots of storage space. I like this phone because under each contact name there is room for additional phone lines per contact as well as email address and home address and more. And from the individual contact name, there is a short cut you can use to text that person as well without having to go into a separate text message screen.** **This phone also has great text messaging features as well. ** **I also like the calendar that is built in. You can enter your event or appointment months in advance and set the timer to go off to remind you before the event or appointment.** **It has adjustable volume control and many different ring tones (not just one or two). It also has 1 touch programmable dialing (speed dialing) as well as voice recognition features so you can just say a name when you flip it open instead of having to hunt through your contacts (which is great while having to use it while driving).** **It also stays charged really well and I love the headset/hands free feature. It picks up well and is crystal clear communication.** **Two thumbs up!!!**

Lg phone is durable and has good reception.

The LG scoop phone is not the "newest" or hippest phone out there, but it does get the job done.  It has a camera that also records short video clips.  One thing that I found lacking about the camera was that is does not have a flash, so unless your taking your pics outside they may come out a little dark. It does offer the slide out qwerty keyboard which is awesome for someone who loves texting.  One thing I found lacking was the number keys are shared, so everytime you want to type a number you have to push shift first, which is a little annoying but not bad. It offers internet access which you have to subscribe to, but it also offers celltop, which has news, weather, ringtones, stocks, sports, etc. and this only charges you airtime. Overall, I think this phone is very durable, i've dropped it several times and havent had any problem.  I also dropped this phone into water, and it still WORKS! Overall, a good phone for the price.

Full keyboard and logical, fun style... great phone.

My wife and I picked up new phones upon signing with Alltell wireless earlier this year. Aside from one or two quirks, we have been very happy with our LG Scoops. The phone has an incredibly pleasant, candy bar design, with a sliding face that reveals a full keyboard beneath. The phone comes in a plethora of colors. I have the tangerine, and my wife has the violet one. We've both received compliments on the colors, and enjoy the unique look of our phones. Celltop, Alltell's widget-like program is useful, and the scoop capitilizes on it by having an easy to access Celltop button, and screen layout that makes sense. Sound quality on the phone is great, and the speakerphone (which has a dedicated, easy to use, button) is very high quality. The camera is good for such an entry level phone, and the keypad makes typing text messages easy and allows for more complex messages. My main issue with the phone is that I can't choose what my soft keys do. They are locked in to the applications Alltell assigned at the factory. Oh! One great aspect is that there is a very basic music player app built in, and that you can upgrade the phone's memory to 4Gb using a micro SD card. Woot. Did this, and it really adds to the phone's potential.

The worst purchase I have ever made!

1

The first week The Scoop was available I found myself rushing out to purchase one - in orange.  My favorite thing about The Scoop was it just looked cool compared to the other cell phones on the market a the time.  I really liked this phone when I first purchased it because it had all the basic features I wanted and it did what I needed it to do. The Scoop has a large bright color screen which is great when answering the phone and playing with your photos.  The sliding three line lighted QWERTY Keyboard is great for several tasks - Texting, Entering Contact Information, or making a quick note on the go.  If you like to take Pictures this little phone takes some really good outside pictures and if the light is good - inside as well.  I like having a Calculator, Tip Calculator and Calendar Feature.  If you use the camera feature than the Micro SD Slot is a must.  The Bluetooth feature works great to transfer your photos to your computer.  It is nice to have a cell phone that the battery does not die after a couple of phone calls.  I am able to make several calls before the battery needs to be put on the charger.  If you get purchase The Scoop don't forget the Car Charger - the one I have will charge my phone in about a hour.  The battery will last at least four days without needing a charge if the phone is in standby mode.  My problems began about four months after I purchased the phone.  The phone would just shut itself off without warning.  I would take it back into the store and they would do software updates and check the battery.  The battery was not the problem! The software updates would help for a few days to a couple of weeks but the problem would return.  Thankfully the phone was still under warranty when they decided to Return it to LG and give me a replacement.  In about a week I received my new phone (replacement) and took it back to the cell phone company to program it and transfer my contacts onto the new phone.  It took them two hours to transfer my data and do a software update.  The new phone worked for about four months - and then it happened my phone began to shut itself off without any warning.  It is now out of warranty and I am stuck with a phone that is not very reliable.  I have to keep checking it to make sure it is still on.  I really liked the orange color but my phone has already began to look dull and faded after just over a year of use.  The QWERTY Keeyboard keys are beginning to fade and it is hard to see the letters anymore.  If you are thinking about purchasing a LG Scoop - keep looking and when you find something let me know! I guess you can say that is the scoop on the LG Scoop from Alltel Wireless.

LG scoop not made to last long

2

We have owned 3 LG scoops. One phone half the keyboard stopped working so when texting we had to either use the number pad or just use the part of the keyboard that works. The second phone the screen cracked. I am unsure of how this happen. While waiting for the new one to come the plug in part of this phone stopped working so I was no longer able to charge the phone or transfer my phone numbers over. It was alwasy hard to get the plugin in to charge the phone(a constant battle). The 3rd phone arrived and within a month the screen was cracked. It fell out of my packet and hit the wood flooring. I will no long buy another LG phone. we only got the 3rd because of a promotion. If you are looking for a phone that can withstand a little abuse do not get this phone. It does not last. We had the worse signal with these phones as it was always dropping calls. half of the time we didn't get the phone calls. This is a poorly made phone with the worst signal!!

LG Scoop Cell Phone is not as great as it looks.

2

The LG Scoop Cell Phone is not as great as it looks.  It does have a cute look to it.  It is lightweight.  It has a camera, and a nice, full QWERTY keyboard.  I like the keypad buttons. The keypad buttons of the QWERTY keyboard are also very nice.  This keyboard is very spacious and easy to use.  I like the size of the keyboard.   The phone is user friendly and can be very easily navigated.   The color options of the actual phone itself are great.  The screen of the phone is nice, and I like the size of the screen. The camera is not the best feature. It does not have a flash, and the pictures are very good quality. The thing that I do not like about the phone is its software or the programming.  It is kind of slow.  I had to send my scoop back to the phone company a few times because it would lock up, and the screen would go blank.  They sent me back three different phones, and they all did the same thing.  Eventually I had to get a different phone.
