LG Refrigerator - French Door Refrigerator - LFC25770ST  —

The LG refrigerator was delievered and in service for less than 30 days, one of the light bulbs inside the top section of the refrigerator burned out, I called the  LG customer service for the repair by giving LG a chance to fix it's defective product, LG's customer service told me that it is my responsibility to purchase the light bulb and fix it myself, the light bulb is not a warranty item, according to LG's customer service warranty definition the light bulb inside the LG's own product is not a part of LG refrigerator, go figure, therefore it is not LG's problem. Thanks  LG! My expectation is at least to ship me a good light bulb and give me some good advices. I don't really appreciate the general denial practice of LG customer service. I won't buy LG products, it makes my blood pressure goes up.

I've had the same problem as Calena....came home from work to find my fridge was nearly on fire. The house stunk of burned plastic....outside of the fridge was hot to the touch. Everything plastic inside the fridge was melted...the lights had not shut off in hours even though the doors were closed. It had gotten so hot that the plastic had fallen from the roof of the fridge and warped and burned the plastic pieces. All of my food was HOT, my chocolates, cheese, and butter were melted. Milk, meats and everything else inside was warm. Basically had to place tape over the door button/sensors to keep lights from turning on. AWESOME!!! Will never buy another LG product again after reading about their horrific customer service. And, I will be telling everyone I know via Facebook, Myspace, Twitter and Blogs not to buy an LG product unless they want FIRE IN THEIR FRIDGE!!!!!!!!!

There was a glitch with the lights and they got so hot, they actually started to catch on fire! The inside is bubbled and unrepairable. They managed to get someone to my home to tell me "Yes you need a new fridge!" But now after TWO WHOLE WEEKS of calling them and being bounced around from one person to another THERE IS STILL NO ONE THAT WILL TELL ME WHEN THEY ARE REPLACING IT! no one will take charge! I WILL NEVER BUY LG AGAIN! I spent $1700 on a new fridge and $90 for the warranty for what? so I could have a fire hazard and burn my house down and have no one talk to me!! Don't get me started on the TWO HOURS wait on the phone!!! AHHH

In response to AdamGibson's comment from Sep 12, 2008 at 10:15AM:

Not sure your inference to compare a $5 toilet tissue dispensers to a $2000 LG refrigerator makes great sense to the review, you can return the $5 toilet tissue dispensers if it breaks under 1 month. Inferior company produces inferior products.

You really wanted a repairman to come out to change a light bulb?
It is a good thing that they do not warranty toilet tissue dispensers. By the way these things are made in Korea. That should melt your hard heart

In response to chilli's comment from Sep 3, 2008 at 8:23PM:

It is an indication of poor design (incapable of handling the current surge when the switch is on) , poor supply chain (unqualified vendor) or poor quality assurance incoming inspection (can't test if the components meet the specification), If it is defective, the LG's customer's should be at least helpful better than in denial mode. A burned out light bulb can tell a lot about the reliability of this company's products.

In response to bchuong: Your getting all worked up over a light bulb? Seriously, think about it for a moment. It's a light bulb! A burned out light bulb does not make a refrigerator inoperable.
