I checked out several of these DVD players online before actually purchasing one at the store. I really only wanted this for Netflix and I have to say that even though I tend to be electronically challenged, this unit was simple to setup and use.

I received this Blu-ray player for Christmas '10 and have been extremely satisfied with its capabilties. You sometimes have to remember the thing actually plays Blu-ray discs. The set-up was a cinch. The player was able to find the home network instantly and the connection process was a breeze. The preloaded apps included are a massive plus. Netflix and Pandora are great for most, but as a MLB fan, I was especially excited to see MLB.TV included in the Netcast lineup. The player itself is a very sleek looking design compared to other manufacturers who are coming in at a comparable price point. It's playback options are all average or above average and I've had no problems with glitches since owning the unit. For the money, I think this is one of the best units you can buy.

I enjoy watching movies in comfort. My LG-BD 570 Blu-Ray Player with Wireless Connectivity has made my media room a sports venue, a movie theater and a family photo gallery. The various functions allow me to watch movies on demand with a monthly service plan (they are offered with the player). I can plan movie marathons with my grandchildren and we can watch movies in sequence. I can stop they player when they want more popcorn, get restless or fall asleep. Other functions allow the family to view photos of vacations. The player also offers the ability to watch new "in theater releases" or sports activities.

I recieved the LG-BD570 Blu-Ray disc player with Wireless Connectivity for Christmas this past year. I absolutely LOVE it! It is such an upgrade from the old VHS-DVD player we had previously. It was really easy to hook up, and connected easily to our wireless network. I like the slim style and as it is black, it looks nice and blends in with our other electronics. The main reason I wanted this Blu-Ray player was specifically for the wireless connectivity, for watching instant Netflix. I was pleasantly suprised to discover that it does so much more than just Netflix! I frequently use it to listen to Pandora radio. I also connect my external hard-drive by the USB port and am able to watch home videos, look at photos, and listen to my downloaded mp3 music! There are a lot of other features and things I can do with it that I have not tried yet....but I love that this is such a multi-functional electronic!

We purchased this in order to stream netflix without having to hook up our computer with an HDMI cord every time. We needed it to be wireless because we don't have an ethernet port in our living room. We had compared this player with the Sony equivalent blu ray player (those reviews said that streaming didn't do well), and are very happy we chose LG. The streaming feature works really well. We did upgrade our wireless to 12 mpg. Set up of the player went easily. We do have an LG tv, so perhaps the compatability of the two is a factor. We were pleased with the features of netcast, which included netflix, vudu, and picasso. We would have liked it to include hulu plus, but maybe a software update with include that in time. The only other negative thing is that it does take a few seconds when you first turn the player on for it to startup, but it's not that bad. We have not actually played a blu ray on it yet.

The LG - BD570 Network Blu-ray player is my 3rd blu-ray player and the best by far.  The blu-ray diode on my 40gb ps3 died 11 months after I bought it and the Samsung that replaced it is still going strong.  I purchased the LG for its wireless and media center capabilities.  The integrated streaming options are great but Netflix and Pandora are the only ones I ever use.  I'm not sure how many people check the weather on their blu-ray players.  Discs load much faster than any of my previous players and the picture quality is stunning.  The Netflix interface allows for the streaming of movies that aren't in your queue but it's absolutely terrible if you're looking for easy navigability.  People with full queues should move what they want to watch to the top of the queue before streaming instead of spending a couple minutes trying to get to it.  The device also doubles as a media server and an external harddrive can be plugged into the usb port.  It supports more formats than any of the players I looked at, including MKV.  Every video I've tried so far has worked flawlessly.  LG's player is money well spent.

I bought the LG BD570 during black friday when amazon was having all these great sales. I was searching for a long time a bluray player that had a usb port that would play .mkv files. I have most of my movies in a 720p format on my computer and I wanted to watch these on my TV. The bluray player had to have a usb port that supported NTFS format for the external harddrive and also .mkv format for the files. After much research I came upon the LG BD570. This bluray player had exactly what I needed!! The mkv movies play flawlessly through my connected external harddrive. Since this was the feature that I was searching for I cannot really comment on any of its other features. I did try playing an actual bluray and the disc booted up fairly quickly under 20 seconds. I did not try any of the internet apps though. I do hear that the BD570 has netflix app which would be useful for other people. But for those that want a bluray player that reads an NTFS external hard drive, look no more!

This LG Blu-ray is awesome!  It was really easy to set up and didn't take very much time either.  It connects to your Wifi, or you can connect it with an ethernet cable.  You can watch netflix with it, VUDU, CinemaNow.  It has Pandora, Picasa, YouTube videos, and accu weather.  I've heard about blu-rays taking a long time to load on some brands and modles of blu-ray players, but we havn't had that problem yet with the LG 570.  It doesn't take that long to load, and the picture is great.  It also works amazing on our regular dvd's, even the ones that have some scratches and couldn't be played on our old dvd player.  It was also a great price for everything we got with it!!  The front flips down in order to put the dvd/blu-ray in.  However, if you use the remote to eject and then to put it back in, the front flips down on its own and then back up again which I like because I don't like how it looks without the front closed.  No complaints, easy to use, great quality, and many benefits!

The LG bd570 blu-ray play is a very attractive piece of machinery in both form and function. It has an easy to set up network.  Problems -  The device comes with an easy to set up program for your PC - nero.  However, I did have a problem because the blu-ray player kept asking for a cifs password and I could not figure out what it was wanting.   Finally I found a suggestion to go into windows media player and to add my files to public sharing through that.  After doing so, I haven't had any problems getting connected to my home network.  It quit asking for my CISF password.  It streams files from my computer without issue! Oh also, when trying to connect to my internet for the first time, It refused to work - all it took was powering off the blu-ray player and turning it on agin and then it worked.  Another thing -  we haven't been able to get cinemanow to work properly I can't log in sometimes and other times we can't make a purchase with the credit in our account. However the bluray player does work with VUDU and so far that has worked flawlessly for us.  The movie streams without interruption and there have been no hiccups in the system. The last and only real notable problem we've has is that the firmware does not seem to want to update for us.  I have tried several times.  I have not yet tried to contact lg for support though, maybe this will clear up in time.  All in all though, this machine has worked wonderfully.  Aside from a few minor hiccups trying to get all the features set up, it has worked like a dream.  They player is work the investment in my opionion.  We have had no problems actually playing any movies.  They play crisp and clear.  The features that come with it are very nice and convienient and knowing what I know about it I still would purchase this player.

Who knew that watching a movie at home could get any better? My husband and I decided to splurge and get a home theater system. We didn't know much about Blu-Ray Disc players specifically until we got to the store to buy our home theater system. Watching a movie on the Blu-Ray Disc player on a big screen TV is just like being at the movies! The quality is crisp and clear and the sound is excellent. This is much better than the old VHS tapes or even a regular DVD player. I like that you can watch regular DVDs on the Blu-Ray Disc players. This is convenient for those movies that haven't had a chance to upgrade yet or those old favorites that we've purchased in the past and don't want to throw away or upgrade just yet. The wireless connectivity is easy to set up - we thought it might be tough but the instruction manual walks you right through the set up and is easily done. Get the right cables for your system and you're good to go!
