The LG Stainless steel microwave is a good choice.  The setting for dinner-plate gets my plate good and hot every time.  The only downside is that the inexpensive popcorn gets a little parched at the 3 oz setting.  Most microwaves don't have a perfect setting for popcorn either though.  I do like how quiet the microwave is comparedto the Emerson that was replaced by the LG.  I also like the luxury of one touch time setting in 30 second increments.  The potato baking feature gets a large potato exactly how I like it on the 2 potato setting.  If you want to cook several stages of cooking and leave to let the microwave to defrost ground beef then cook the beef and then keep it warm for 30 minutes, you can use 3 stage cooking.

The instructions don't cover 3 stage or 2 stage cooking.  However, all you do is enter the defrost 1 for ground beef then the number of pounds, then press "time cook" enter the cook time and power level if not high, To keep it warm for 30 minutes press "time cook" and 30 minutes then power level 1, then finally press start.  The microwave will start the defrost stage and go into the cook stage when defrost is complete.  Then when cooking is complete the microwave will keep the beef warm on low for 30 minutes.  That is a lot of steps though it is not hard to learn.  If you prefer to keep your cooking simple, you can cook any way without the 2 or 3 stage cooking feature.
