Green Saver

We just bought these washers back in July. They are energy savers and have saved us some money when it comes to our power bill! :) They are very nice, I use the HE pods when i use laundry detergent Energy Efficiency This washer/dryer is very energy efficient. They are rated with 5 stars for energy efficiency Cleaning Time The washer offers a bunch of different cleaning times just depends on how long you want and how dirty the clothes may be. If your clothes are more muddy they have a button for that, if you just want a quick wash, they have a button for that also, they have a button for everything almost Performance If i had to rate this washer/dryer on a scale from 1-10 i'd give it a 15 its the best washer/dryer we have ever had. The performance of this washer and dryer is the best of any appliance that we have ever had. Ease of Use The easiness is so simple a 5 year old could do it if shown 1 time Design The design is good but could be better. I wasn't fond of how when they put the dryer on top of the washer it scraped it a little bit, so they design of how they put them on top of each other could become better. Durability This washer with stands bumps and bangs it is very durable. Although when the dryer was put on top of the washer it got a few knicks in it. So maybe the outside could be more durable to withstand those types of things

Good for Household of 2

I think I might personally prefer a different washer (I prefer top-loading, but it wasn't possible in my home) with an ability to handle a larger load of laundry. This washer handles something like 15-20 lbs (I forget the exact number), and I'd like to be able to do more laundry at once without overloading the washer. Three times a week is too frequent for doing laundry (as we have no dryer, so all clothes must air-dry indoors). We are conservative of how much dirty laundry we create, so I don't think we are throwing in things that have barely been worn/used. Aside from this, the washer is good. It might suit a small household or someone who doesn't have a great deal of laundry the best (unless you don't mind doing many loads per week). Energy Efficiency I don't know how energy-efficient this product is, but there is no "not applicable" or "don't know" choice. Cleaning Time I think the cycles that last more than 1 hour are too long, but luckily one can play with the options to reduce the cycle length. Performance Our clothes come out clean, so no complaints here. Naturally, stains should be treated properly before going in. The washer was also advertised as being "whisper-silent" which is not really true, but if I close the door to the laundry room, it doesn't disturb me (though I can definitely still hear if the washer is going). Ease of Use No problems here. All of the various settings are discrete (not one continuous dial of temperatures or load weight), so just set everything up correctly for the type of clothing being washed, and it's easy from there. Design This is my first time using a front-load washer, and I have to admit I prefer top-loading (but it wasn't an option for our apartment -- the place where the washer is located does not allow for a top-loading washer). One of the problems with front-loading washers is that they all have that rubber/plastic seal where the door is to prevent water from leaking while the machine is in use. Mold/mildew and all kinds of grime can get trapped under that seal, which affects the scent of the clothes getting washed. Thus, one needs to clean under that seal regularly to prevent build-up. Also, this is not the fault of the manufacturer, but the door on my washer opens to the left (hinge is on the left). However, the way it is positioned in my home (in a small right hand corner) makes it difficult to load and unload clothes. I have to hunch over the door and pull clothes over it, usually dropping wet clothing in the process. Had I thought about it more before buying the washer, I'd get one that opens to the right instead (though in my home, it would then hit a wall and not open all the way...hmm...can't win!) Anyway, just be cognizant of where your washer will be positioned before you buy one to avoid this problem! Durability I've only had this washer for 2 years (I do laundry about 3 times a week), so it's durable enough to last that long. The components are sturdy, and it hasn't required any replacement or maintenance yet. I do wipe it down and clean the detergent dispenser every once in a while -- not sure if that really contributes to its care!

Cleans well but needs to ventilate!

I Have had my LG Front Load washer/dryer Combo for 4 years and are satisfied with them- The washer cleans very well and uses minimal water and rinses extremelly well while the dryer works just as well- My only complaint is that the washer tends to get a musty smell if the door is kept shut after each use, so I have to keep the door open to air it out and let it dry. This would not be such a big deal if it wasn't that my laundry room is small and is the entrance from the garage to the kitchen. Having the door open creates a traffic problem! The inside also tends to have mold build up if not clean or dried regularly but an empty wash cycle with clorox bleach takes care of the problem. I would still consider LG in the future but might also look at products that fight off mold and musty smells

I Am Very Disappointed With My LG Washer and Dryer

1

I purchased the LG washer and dryer set with excitement and high hopes. I have been very disappointed! The washer always smells bad. It's actually embarrasing when company comes over and smells the sour smell. I have heard that others have had the same problem and that LG denies the issues. There is actually mold growing. My kids clothes smell awful. The dryer takes FOREVER to dry. I think it takes 3 or 4 cycles to actually dry the clothes. I can't tell you how disappointed I am. This set isn't cheap and the clothes smess worse coming out of the dryer than they did going into the washer.

Designed for small families and small places!!

I was skeptical when my husband wanted to get this washer/dryer combo. I wasn't sure at all on how it dried or anything. I live in a townhouse and have a 3 and 5 year old. It keeps up with us and it has never faded or shrunk our clothes. I have friends who comment on how my clothes look almost new. Now it does a steam dry so ur clothes don't feel completely dry. I always just lay them out on my bed and put the next load in, and when I return they are dry. I love this machine. Energy Efficiency My electric bill has not gone up at all. I have run this little machine hard for three days (I had sick kids.) it did not increase much at all. I was worried about it but it was perfect. Which just made me live the machine more. Cleaning Time It is a washer dry combo. It takes time . It drys with steam. I don't mind the time it takes. My clothes are not faded or shrunk. Performance I have had no problems my clothes are cleaner. You have to clean the filter and don't over load it but mine works wonderfully. Ease of Use I am still learning everything on it. It just does so much. Design It fit perfect in my linen closet. I like that it is a front loader and that the controls are up front.

We purchased our washer with a matching dryer. We were told that we were receiving the best in the industry. I do agree that the washer is fantastic, but we did have a little snag. Our first one had a bent frame. This could have been from any number of factors. LG DID replace our washer, but it took about 3 weeks (a long time when you have a large family and no alternative washing source!) Still, they did replace it, and we haven't had a problem since. Energy Efficiency My electric bill doesn't seem to suffer despite my large family, so I find that impressive. Plus, it has a quick wash setting. Cleaning Time You can choose the length of the cycle based on the level of dirt/soil. I like that I can quickly wash something that just needed a quick wash, but can really get dirty clothes scrubbed clean, all while I do something else! Performance It cleans our clothes and that's good enough for me! Ease of Use The buttons are simply marked, so there's nothing to get confused about. Simply push what you need. Design It seems like an expensive design all while being simple to use. I like that I feel like I bought something of quality, but that is still easy to use without having to read a book each time! Durability We did have issues with our first model having a bent frame. This could have happened during manufacture or delivery we were told. Either way, LG did take care of the replacement, though it did take 3 weeks, which seemed like a long time with active children and no alternative washing sources.

LG washer, energy efficient, but not time efficient

4

This was a good washer for a while, but I had to repair it about 5 different times in 8 years, because of all the different moving parts, it would take a while for certain parts to be ordered and come in, and the repairman to come out, which left me having to hold off on doing laundry. Energy Efficiency It is very energy efficient and quiet. Cleaning Time Because it uses low energy, it takes longer to clean a load. Performance With no agitator it doesn't clean clothes quite as well. Ease of Use The buttons make it very easy to use. Design It is really cool looking, and sleek! Durability It broke multiple times for me and I repaired it 5 times in 8 years.

It took some getting used to, but in the end I love it.

When I first got this washer, I was intimidated by it. It was a little difficult to figure out how to use. And because the water doesn't pour directly onto the clothes like top loading washers, I wasn't sure my clothes were actually getting clean. But once I figured it all out, I love it. It cuts my laundry time in half.

Great for one - two people only.

This is great if you live in an apartment and space is limited. Only good for a couple or one person as it takes 3-4 hours to do one load of laundry beginning to end. It does not need a vent which is why we initially purchased this product. However it takes less time and effort for us to just go to the laundry mat and be done in an hour. Energy Efficiency It runs on a 110 plug. Cleaning Time It takes 54 minutes just for the regular wash cycle and then 2-4 hours to dry depending on which setting you choose. Performance It works great the first few times and then it takes longer and longer. Ease of Use Easy to understand instruction but we never used half of the settings. Design I don't like the fact you had to actually set the dryer after the wash and it wouldn't automatically do this. So you couldn't start it and leave for work and come home to dry laundry. Durability Was not worth the price. We got rid of it 7 months after purchasing.

Best Washer/Dryer Combined

4

I live in a small apartment and this combined washer/dryer is great! I'd say it's about the size of a regular washer or dryer alone. The digital controls are nice and make washing/drying super easy do...and fun! It plays a song when it's finished drying too. It's not as loud as I thought it'd be. When it is on the spin cycle, it does tend to get a little loud and shaky, but I'd expect that from most washers and dryers. But I was really surprised at how quiet it is...almost like a calming tumbling sound as it washes and dries. I just hooked it up to my kitchen faucet through a hose and detach it when I'm done using it. Since I don't have a washer/dryer hookup in my place, this will work for me for the time being. My only complaint is that it does not dry as well as normal driers do. Even when you do the longest dry mode, clothes still seem to be a tad damp. TIP: take out the clothes immediately and shake each one in the air to dry for a few seconds. It will automatically become dry if you do this. I also only fill it up half way since if I put too much in it, it will guarantee wet clothes after a full drying cycle. Overall, I'm happy with this and love it a lot! I love that it uses less electricity, too.
