I got this phone from Verizon Wireless early in the touch screen days. I think it was LG's attempt to provide an answer to the popular iPhone that is only available from AT&T. The phone is set up pretty well. It takes practice to get used to using the touch screen. This phone is not ideal for someone with large fingers. If you have large "man hands" you would be better of using a phone with a true keyboard. Many of the newer phones have both a touch screen for quick use and an actual keyboard for texting. (My kids make fun of me for texting so slowly.) The one complaint I have with Verizon is how they do business with all of the extras that make your phone personal. Their business model makes them "money grubbing" greedy. One of the most popular things with the iPhone is the wide variety and availability of the apps. Many are free. Good luck finding anything free for any Verizon phone, ie wallpaper, games, ringtones, apps, etc.
One thing that I find that is most important. This is a difficult phone to use if you are interested in using the web browser. The screen is pretty large, but LG did not configure things very well. It is very tough to see. The iPhone is so much better.
All in all it is a decent phone. I am looking forward to replacing this phone with a new phone, though. It is fine for music (if you load your own!) and general phone things. Verizon has a great GPS called VZNavigator if you need one.
Apple's iPhone is supposed to be available to Verizon's network in the future. When this happens, Apple's dominance will grow exponentially.
