The original LG Chocolate VX8500 disappointed me big time.

Overall
Rated 2 out of 5

Quick View: I am a huge fan of LG cell phones but the LG - Chocolate VX8500 Cell Phone really disappointed me. I finally just went and upgraded and I am so glad to say adios to my little red trouble maker of a phone.About the LG - Chocolate VX8500 Cell PhoneI am not going to get all techy and list all the features of this phone. It does have a music player and a so-so camera. It is feature rich although my Black Cherry phone lacks a speakerphone which is pretty basic. The phone is small and rectangular and the top slides up to reveal a small keyboard. The keyboard is one of my biggest complaints. It's small, hard to see, and is so sensitive that I often end up dialing three o...

It's good to be The Princess!

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

When you've raised three daughters across three plus decades you gain a lot of experience in parent/child politics. At the moment, I'm way ahead in the Boca Raton Caucus.

My tool for topping the polls? Simple, the LG - Strawberry Chocolate. Yup nothing to it!

For the last few months our soon to be 11 year-old daughter has been campaigning for a cell phone of her own. Initially, both the lovely Veronica and I were lukewarm on the idea. Does a 10 year-old really need a cell phone?

But, after many months of pondering we decided that yeah, in this day and age in the sometimes bizarre world that is South Florida, yes she does. Of course, we didn't let on to the little princess that w...

An Advanced Phone For Amateurs

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

It was time for me to get my new cell phone after two years of a really bad motorola phone I hated with a passion. So off to Verizon I toddled. Had absolutely no idea as to what to choose. I stood there staring at quite a few models and somehow decided on the LG Chocolate Touch. I really wanted a touch phone this time around. It looked really sleek, modern and cool so I pointed and said that one to the clerk. Verizon, by the way, was great. They set it up for me in the store so I didn't have to struggle figuring out what was needed so that I could make my first call. So anyway, overall, the phone is pretty good. It has alot of neat gadgets that I will probably never use, nor will I ever know...

not the best phone to have

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

This phone is easy to use and is very simply so for those who dont care much for features, this is the phone for you. The phone has several features and applications but nothing too special and convenient for the phone lovers. This phone works with those who dont expect much from a phone. The camera is okay and the simplicity of the phone is great. It is not durable, or so i feel. I Dont find it one of the best phones to use because i dont think its long lasting. It comes with convenient accessories needed to help making using the phone more enjoyable. Its nice to have as a back up. THe only problem is that its a cdma phone so it doesnt work with tmobile nor att. And it cant even be unlocked to those networks. The touchpad is not sensitive enough and that is a big problem for many people. The exterior shows so much wear and tear. It easily gets dirty and scratched. The other negative feature is the battery life is very poor.

My Son HAD TO Have A Chocolate.....Cell Phone, That is!

Overall

Verizon LG Chocolate

This month our Verizon **phone contracts were up, which means that we got to pick out new phones and renew our contract.    Since my Son is on our family plan, it meant he got to pick out a new phone, too.  He kept talking about a "Chocolate".  The "Chocolate" is so cool.  I hope I can get a "Chocolate**".    I had no idea what he was talking about.  Maybe he was speaking in Mumma code, so that I could relate?  Who knows.

We arrive at our local Verizon Store and like the dramatic scenes in movies where the two lovers spot each other from afar and run towards each ot...

Decent phone overall.......main issue is too sensitive keypad.

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5

I like how the phone slides to shut & open. Definitely like the color selections they have for it. I would probably buy the new release of the chocolate since the keypad on it isn't as sensitive & more like a normal keypad. To me the keypad is like one big keypad & each number/letter isn't an individual button. If you don't text a lot then its not that big of a deal & my 4 yr old can use the phone to talk on easily enough. I was excited to finally get my "pink" phone & am glad I have this phone. Would recommend it to friends but tell them to get the newer ones with the less sensitive keypads instead.

Not a very durable phone.

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

Th LG Chocolate is an attractive phone that comes in a variety of colors.  If that is what you buy the phone for then it would be a good choice for you.  If you do any texting or are clumsy and drop it, even from a short distance, you should look to another phone.Within one month of having the phone the numbers were worn almost completely off from texting.  As it was under warranty a replacement phone was provided but the service plan was extended from the date of replacement.  Then after two months and having it fall to a carpeted area approximately two feet down three times the number pad was again worn off and the phone was loosing functionality.  It would not rin...

Phone is cute, but not functional

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

The Chocolate LG cell phone is very attractive, but hardly functional. I owned this phone for a couple months before the touch screen started acting up. My husband and I both got the black LG Chocolate phones as soon as they came out. The touch screen was very sensative when we first started using them, however withing a couple months everything started falling apart. Ill be honest, my husband does not take care of his phone very well, but I do. The send button on both of our phones went haywire. I would press the call button and it would start calling the first person on my call list without being able to use any other function. I have had our phones taken into Verizon Wireless several time...

The LG Chocolate's main flaw is the sound

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5

The LG Chocolate is a pretty new phone, though is quickly becoming outdated.  It's different than most flip phones in that instead it slides up and has touch buttons.  The touch sensitive buttons seem cool at first, but can be a problem when wet or damaged.  The sound quality is not very impressive and the screen is easily damaged.  However, this phone does have it's ups.  I've never had a problem with the buttons being pushed while in my pocket or it randomly calling people I don't mean for it to call.  The camara is pretty decent.  There are handy volume buttons on the sides that make for easy silencing.  It quickly charges and the battery lasts for a long time.  This phone has it's ups and downs.  Overall, I would call it a decent phone, though I'm sure there are some better out there.

The phone that does everything.

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

The LG Chocolate Touch is great phone with a lot of cool and new features.  This phone is compact, easy to use, nice to look at, and user friendly. The chocolate touch also come with two snap on back covers; a black one for the gentlemen and a purple one for the ladies.  You can purchase great accessories for the phone like silicon covers, blue tooth earpieces, and touch screen protectors.  You can take many pictures with its internal memory or apply pictures to a mini SD card.  Thirty second video clips can also be recorded on the camcorder.  Another great feature is creating a list of favorites from your contact list; you can apply a specia...

Cute but not functional

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5

The LG cherry chocolate is cute but I would not purchase it if I had to do it again.  First of all, the keys are very touchy.  Before you know it, you are calling someone in error because the touchpad dialed it in error.  The menus are nice but difficult to navigate around with because of the touchpad being so sensitive.  The keypad is much to small to text message easily with.  I have small fingers and still have a difficult time texting.  I do like the fact that it is compact and unique.  I did purchase the software to download and play music on it.  The software was difficult to use and it took hours to figure out.  Therefore, for times sake, stored the box away and have yet to listen to music on it.  Overall, I would not purchase the LG chocolate if I had to do it over again.  I would have just purchased an IPOD and gotten a basic cell phone that you can text with. On a positive note, the camera on the cell phone does work well.

Stylish but a pain

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5

I fell in love with this cellphone at first. It was very stylish, I loved the color (pink), and it wasn't a flip phone - something new just slides. I already had verizon wireless to begin with - which is a pretty good phone company compared to most out there. I have a good plan with them so I decided to get my financee and I a phone plan together. We both got the LG Chocolate (buy one get one free) and we loved them at first. The screen is very clear, there pretty small and compact, etc. But days later after using the phones for a while we realized the cons. It's kind of hard to text message because the keys are small, and because the phone is compact. The main keys that you use are VER...

Sweet

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

Everyone I know that has one loves it!The music player is fantastic - who needs iPod!The few quirks it has are really minor and hardly detract from the overall experience. The smudges didn't seem to be a problem for me, and the sensitivity of the wheel is just fine; typing is also easy enough - though I'm not a texting maniac. The sound is not super-tinny, but can be a little harsh when volume is set to high.  On that note, there is only one volume level - if the ringer is set to 'low', the conversation will also proceed at 'low' - which is fairly annoying since you have to interrupt the conversation to unlock the phone and adjust the volume.Still, I'm totally in love with it!  =)

Not the best

Overall
Rated 2 out of 5

The chocolates aren't very good. My husband and I each got one and we have had to take his back and get it replaced three times and mine once all within less than 5 months. Plus you have to buy the music software separately so unless you buy there software you cant use the music part or get your pics off it. It works alright for calling and texting but if you text a lot like we do the buttons wear off quickly. If you get even a small scratch on the screen you cant read stuff very well, and if you try to switch between calls you mute it half the time by touching your face to it. Overall if you don't get it cheap its not worth spending a lot on.

Sleek, nice big screen... but awkward to use and easy to break.

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5

I got my Chocolate in August of '06, so it's one of the older ones.  While the screen is large and plenty bright, the overall quality of the phone is poor.  The screen is very easily scratched by just about anything.  I managed to keep mine unmarred for about 6 months, which is WAY longer than anyone else I know of that has this same style of phone.  The sliding mechanism can be troublesome, and woe to anyone who gets grit or dirt in the sliding part, as it is difficult to clear out.I do a lot of texting, and this is NOT the phone for that.  The shape of the open phone is not conducive to texting, as the center of balance of the unit will make it prone to falling out...
