Touch screen, who?

5

I have had this cell phone, for over 5 years, and it is the first cell phone I have owned that didn't die on me, as soon as my two year contract was up, which I was always a bit suspicious about. How is it that cell phones conveniently die, just as your contract is ending? I swore that the carrier Gods lay down a smacketh, kerplow on all cell phones at the 23.5 month mark. That was, until I came across this phone. It has lasted five and a half YEARS! Seriously, people, let's break that down in cell phone years. It's like 204.5666 in people years, right?! LOL Sure, it doesn't have a slim physique; nor does it have a touch screen. However, what it does have is durability. Also, if you have this phone, you won't be forced into any ridiculous data packages, which to a person like me that only texts and makes calls is PRICELESS! I <3 my little (well, big) original V. :) If you have yours lying in a junk drawer, won't you give it another chance. Show your VX9800 some love.

For how old this is it's still a great overall phone

The LG 9800 is a great overall phone. The thickness is one thing i did not like about it. The sound from the speakers was surprising. The battery life was good and i never had a problem with this phone dropping calls.

If only this LG9800 had a scroll wheel, it would be perfect!

Ok so I've had the LG "V" or 9800 for almost 2 years now. Its a pretty good phone overall. ** The good things:** - the full qwerty keyboard...yes it includes the numbers just like on a real keyboard - the stereo speaker phone quality is excellent...I definitely do not need a headpiece - the voice recognition is great especially when having to make a call on speaker and hands free - the mini-sd slot is also great - the camera's got flash along with various effects you can add like sepia, B&W, brightness/contrast, etc...let's not forget the videocamera - the phone can take a licking and still keep on ticking. I can not tell you how many times I have dinged it up and its still alive. Very robust design!! **The not-so-good-things:** - the navigation wheel (lack of a real scroll wheel). Its a square pad that wears down the fingertips really quickly! - have you seen the size of the phone...it definitely isn't a "slip in your pocket" kinda of phone. On the up-side, I always seem to find it in my purse!! - the camera's button is in the wrong location. Many photos have been ruined with my finger blocking the lens. Oh, resolution is not that great.

Great phone!

This phone is great.  Clamshell that opens up into a mini qwerty keyboard.  The con is that it is a little bulky but the newer generations are supposed to be thinner.  Never thought I'd write a review about a phone but I do llike this one.

LG - VX9800 --Great phone!

5

This is hands down one of the very best cell phones I have ever personally owned.  When I had purchased it, it was top of the line.  I mean who doesn't love a full keyboard?  I could type on this thing all day and night, and many times I have!  It runs everything, from the internet to even instant messaging programs.  As a busy mom, and a total computer addict, the instant messaging options really did it for me when it came to this phone.  I could keep in constant touch with the people I wanted to, and that meant a lot to me.  It is a bit bulky, its true.  It is a beast of a phone, but I kind of expected it, and could easily deal with it given its capabilities.  I even had at one point had my first phone of this model ruined by cat throw up, and had it replaced with the exact model.  I loved it so much!  The only other bad thing I can think of is I was stuck using Verizon service, which I could do without!  This is a great phone overall!

Amazing phone! Makes text messaging a breeze!!

The LG VX9800 Envy is a great phone. The battery lasts a very long time. The camera takes great pictures compared to earlier cell phones with cameras. The earpiece transmits a crips clear voice. Text messaging is a breeze with the qwerty keyboard. The only drawback of the phone is that it is a little on the bulky side but the pros of the phone make up for this. I can't give enough praise to this great product by LG.
