Great Tv, Awesome price!

5

I got a really good deal on this tv before the holidays. We had always wanted a big tv, but couldn't afford any with the quality we wanted or a name brand we trust. The LG-52LD550 is a dream come true! The screen is very big, the picture is clear, and the sound is great. My favorite feature would have to be that it is internet connectable. One of the main reasons we bought this model was because of the NetCast feature, we were tired of hooking up our laptop/tv to watch netflix. You just have to buy a wifi adapter or connect with an ethernet cable and you're good to go! There are a few things about the design that are annoying but nothing major. The AV component jacks are in the back panel of the tv, way too close to the middle of the panel. If you have this mounted on the wall you might not be able to reach them. Other than that everything else is perfect!

Movies night at home!

5

My husband is in a wheelchair and can't get around very well so we decided we would have a movie room. My husband wanted to have a 50" or bigger TV so it will feel like we were going to the movies.  We looked for about a month before he found th LG 52" 1080p. he loved the sound, the picture and how big the screen looked. We also purchased a sound bar to go with it, so we could have the full effect. Next day the LG TV was delivered and set up. Now it was time for movie night. We loved that we could get Nexflex and Blockbuster so easy, just by pushing the button. My husband loves the LG TV, he hardly ever leaves the room.

**The LG - 52LD550 52-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV is the best Television I have ever purchase. I own 4 flatscreen Tvs, and they are in every room of the house, but I only own one of these televisions and this TV by far is the best one in the entire house. Out of The 4 Tv's I own 2 are Philips, 1 is a vizio and then I own this television. I bought this television last, or else I would own all of these type of televisions because the quality of these tvs are amazing. They have great picture quality, and sound quality, and the HD quality is out of this world. The price of this television is also out of this world CHEAP!!!! I would recommend this tv 10 out of 10 times. So now that christmas is right around the corner, if your in line to upgrade your tv, or buy and new one, or just buy one as a gift, this television is the one you want at the top of your list, because it will amaze you and you will be so glad you purchased it. Youll be happy that  you got a TV cheap with such great quality. **

LG-LCD 1080p 52 inch Spectacular television, minor flaws.

I purchased the LG - LCD 52 inch 1080p flat screen T.V about three years ago. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase! Until then, I had never heard of the LG brand, and all of the name brand T.V's were more expensive, and looking at them all side by side, LG had the best picture. I would like to share a piece of research I had done, that was confirmed by both my brother and cousin. My brother is an Aerospace engineer, my cousin a degree in computer animation / programming. Plasma T.V's do not do well in sunlight. There are gasses in the T.V that eventually escape, which in turn, ruins your picture and television. The sunlight, (in my house) comes directly in and shines on the T.V in the afternoon. Within a year or two, the T.V would have been ruined. The gasses (Xenon and neon) are inserted between two panes of glass. LCD stands for liquid crystal displays and do very well with sunlight. I suggest you don't get the clear plastic protective cover, but instead opt for a protective cover that does not reflect light. I am not sure what they are called, but, the T.V should not look "shiny", when turned off. OK, the two slight drawbacks of the LG design, 1) The sound level is poor. I live in a small home, but have to turn the T.V up to about 60 (out of 100) to hear it at a normal level. I guess I should purchase a surround sound system, after all, it is a wonderful picture, why not have the sound to go with it! 2) And this one bugs me a bit. I have my T.V mounted to a wall, LG should have payed more attention to designing the A/V jack holes location. They are located on the back of the T.V, which is fine, if you won't need to ever touch them again. They also placed A/V jack holes on the side of the T.V, however, they are located about 6 inches behind the screen on the base of the T.V. A little hard to explain, but, when purchasing one, remember this and look for the A/V location. You have to squeeze your hand behind the set to get to them and all three holes are very close together making it very difficult to do. If you have large hands and arthritis as I do, forget it. You will have to find a child, or woman with small hands to do this. Other than that, LG is a terrific T.V, I couldn't be happier! I owned a Mitsubishi 63 inch BOX big screen before this and I couldn't believe how much space I saved!! The new T.V gives the appearance of class and style. I urge you to do your reasearch before purchasing, it is an investment that will hopefully be with you a long time! Thanks, Minuteman1
