Wow. When the first HD TV's came out I really couldn't tell much of the difference between them and my old standard television at home. I had a 40 in sony big box television and the picture was always clear and what I thought was detailed. Then I bought this LG 42 in super television and I think they should go back to putting alot of making on actors, wow! I might as well be on the 50 yard line, or behind home plate, or in the kitchen with Bobby Flay, because the clarity on this tv is almost beyond reality. The sound is crystal clear from the tv (although I have put in my own sound system) and the numerous brightness, color, etc. settings make it easy to tailor the picture to however you like to watch your tv. The price is usually a little high, but I was surprised to see the difference between this model and those of comparable attributes, even if the others costed less you could see why. This tv was just better, in every possible way.

I was comparing with Sony, Sharp, Panasonic, Samsung, etc., This is the best I got for a very nice price. Glad that I made a great purchase.

I bought this Tv in the beginning of 2010 and so far I do not have any problems with it. The Tv itself is very good in terms of brightness and contrast. It was also very easy to set up as all I had to do is to take the Tv out of the box and mount it onto the stand. There are many preset picture brightness/contrast combinations for different programs such as sports, cinema movies, reguar TV and gaming to prevent burn-ins in the screen.Same thing for the sound. There are multiple HDMI inputs in the back, along with analog inputs and a computer VGA input along with a 3.5mm sound jack for computer input signals. Overall I ould say that this TV is very good for its price. Even though it is rated at 60 hz for the refreshing rate, I did not notice any ghosting when I am playing games with my PS3.

I was fed up with my old CRT 27". It was big and bulky and the picture was so fuzzy, I could not read any small text on it anymore. I found this LG 42" on sale and bought it several months ago. The picture on it is nice and clear. I love playing games on it with my Xbox360. There are 3 HDMI ports you can hook devices up to. I use another for my computer. All you need is a HDMI to DVI cable. It comes in handy for watching movies or playing games. One problem with this TV is there is only 1 audio out and it is optical. There are no component audio out or even a headphone jack. I do not understand why LG would leave this out. If you do not have a home theater system then you will be stuck with the TV speakers. But the speakers are acceptable unlike some other TVs. LG makes good stuff lately and their line of LCD televsions are no exception. I would certainly purchase this TV again. I will likely buy a LG LED in the future also.

Excellent picture... varied sound.  This LG 42 inch LCD TV has wonderful clarity in the picture... it's even better with the HD box added from the cable company.  I ordered it online, which was helpful, since it comes in a huge box and would not have fit in my car.  Very simple to set up, only a few pieces to put together.  I do recommend using the HDMI cables, they help to provide a better picture. The only downside seems to be the sound quality, it varies from channel to channel, sometimes even within shows.  However, when loud enough, I can hear it across the house! I'm sure it would be even better with a home theater system attached. Plus it fits on most standard sized entertainment stands. Even though it's a little more pricey, the picture quality stands out.

Me & my family absoliutely love our LG - 42 LH 30 in. LCD T.V.  LG Makes great TV's for a very reasonalbe cost.  We love our LG T.V. Because it has a nice clear picture - we get high definition through our cable - and it makes the T.V. Picture Crystal Clear when it's on High Defninition.   We usually watch the LG T.V. in High defnintion just because it's such a clear picture.   I know some of the channels don't come in high defnition - but it's still a great picture even when it's not in high defnintion.   We use our TV to watch movies, play Video games ( like the Wii) and to just watch TV.   We put our TV in our family room and we always use that room now becuase it's such a cool TV to watch anythign on.   Overall, I would HIGHLY Recommend LG - 42 inch LCD T.V. to anyone looking for a flat screen TV - it has a Great picture and Great sound - and has been a great purchase for me & my family.
