When my husband and I first moved into our house seven years ago, we purchased a 42" LG LCD television. We were very pleased with it, but it was stolen during a break-in three years later. As soon as things were settled with our insurance company, we immediately purchased a new 42" LG LCD television without even considering any other brands. The picture quality is superb, with a clear, bright display. We subscribe to HD channels, and they look wonderful on this TV. The sound quality is average I suppose, but we normally use a surround-sound system with it so I can't speak too much to that. My family watches a lot of TV, as well as DVDs and playing video games through this TV, and I really cannot think of any complaint we have had in the years owning it. This television has held up well and has never given us any problems. I have always been happy with the LG brand in general, and this TV is no exception. When it comes time to purchase another flat-panel television, we will definitely be going with an LG again.

I received this TV as a gift 4 months ago, and I love it! The size is great, and the picture looks very good as well for only being 550. This TV was a replacement for a huge 300LBS. tube TV that I had, and after hauling the old one away, and setting this one up, I was very impressed. The TV is very light for the size of it, and is not even and inch thick (other than the part that stick out a little in the back). This TV was very easy to set up, only a few wires to hook up, I got the entire thing set up, the dvd player attached, and my nintendo Wii connected within 20 minutes (and im not usually good at these things!). So if you get this TV you may want to save yourself some money by setting it up yourself. The color and picture is great (on the HD channels i have) and the regular channels look just like they did on my old TV, so you will need to be watching HD channels or movies to get the full effect. I would recomend this to anyone who loves watching TV but who is on a budget, and cant afford to splurge on the 1080p version. This really is a great TV!

We got this LG flat screen from Aarons rent a center as soon as we finished paying for it, Its now acting up. It just blacks out for a few minutes and than comes right back on. The picture is clear and pretty as ever. Its just that it will just black out when ever it feels like it. We only had it for two years. The flat screen we have up stairs is a sony no problem it was brought at the same time but not the same place. I never get a LG again

I love LG products. They seem to make good phones, tvs, washers, monitors etc. They are just a very good quality brand from my experience. The LG 42LD550 is a very nice tv. Now I don't do all the fancy things with my tv like stream netflix over and that kind of thing, but from my limited use it has really done well so far. All I do with my tv is watch HD television. Like HD discovery and HD national geographic channel that kind of thing. The clarity and crispness of the LG has been more than satisfactory. I find that the 42 inch size is plenty for my room, and I have no complaints about the size being too large or too small. It is just right. If you are in the market for a good quality HDTV that is clear and dependable, then may I suggest an LG tv for the job.

I recently got this new TV, which was a huge upgrade from my old one. Since I bought it my friends want to come over for every sporting event and watch the games in High Definition. But I have to say I like having everyone come to my house so I don't have to leave. But I can't say enough about this TV. Great picture, great value. I have no complaints whatsoever. It is my favorite TV I have ever owned, as well as my favorite electronic I have ever owned. There are bigger TV's out there, but this one is the perfect size for my living room and I wouldn't trade it for any other. The picture is so perfectly clear and the sound is amazing as well. If you are in the market for a new TV, then check out the LG HDTV's.

My family bought me this TV to replace a 13-year-old one in the family room. It's not something I would have bought but I am very glad they did. The picture is great, the TV itself is well-designed and looks terrific. We liked it so well that we bought one for my father as a Christmas present. The LG is light so although it's a bit bulky to carry - as all TVs are - it's possible for one person to carry. It's easy to install with a minimum of wires. It is also easy to lift onto a stand. The controls are fairly simple so it's easy to switch between watching the TV vs a DVD and the Wii or whatever you hook up to it. This is a great choice if you're looking for a TV that is a good size to please those who watch sports and movies but not so huge that it overwhelms a room. Although I hadn't heard of it before, except for a cell phone, LG has become a brand that the family has decided it will consider whenever we need to buy a new electronic thing.

This could possibly be the biggest bang for your buck as far as HDTVs go. It's high contrast ratio is much desired for LCDs. It's a simple, sleak design that looks good in any living room. Its menus are really easy to use and easy to figure out. The tru-motion option is terrible for movies/shows, but AWESOME for sporting events. It has 4 HDMI ports which is nice. I use the USB ports for music, photo viewing, etc. LG really knows what their doing when it comes to HDTVs. Don't let the fact that Wal-Mart stocks LG. They're as close to the top of the line as you can get. Easily comparable to Samsungs and usually cheaper. The shiny black casing is a dust magnet, so you'll have to keep it clean. Also, this thing is WiFi capable. You'll need to buy the wireless stick to connect to your network. I can easily hardwire mine with an ethernet cord, so it's not needed. Also, keep in mind that there are so many things out there that have wireless capabilities (Blu-Ray players, PS3, Wii, etc.) that it's not a necessary thing to have in a TV.

First off, LG is my favorite brand of televisions. Their products are extremely high quality time and time again. Second, the 42 inch version of this tv, which is HDTV ready and an LCD, is of superb, top of the line quality. I am extremely happy to have upgraded from my previous 32 inch television, which was also made by LG. For one, LG does not inflate their prices and this TV is of excellent quality, yet comparably much cheaper than similar 42 inch televisions with similar features, materials, and the like. Moreover, the television was easy to install, which has been my experience with LG televisions overall. Lastly, I think the television has improved its energy consumption and now uses even less energy than my previous one, even though the television itself is a larget set. I have nothing I dislike about this television. Therefore, I would recommend the 42 inch LCD LG television to anyone looking to upgrade their set.

This is my very first LG TV, its a 42 inch LCD-LED backlit HDTV. I've never had an LG tv before but I will definatly buy this brand again in the future. The picture we get on this tv is phanomanal. We love all the other different electronic that we can hook up to this TV, we can plug our computers into it our tablet into it as well as hooking up other componets.
