Good TV for the price. LG is Great

4

Okay. I am a huge fan of LG and I think they make a good product most of the time. This product is no exception to that. It is a good, sturdy, product for a good price. The colors are vibrant the Pixel mapping is a cool feature too. The blacks can look a little faded at times, but it's nothing to whine about. Overall this is just a great little television set. My kids have enjoyed watching their movies and tv shows on it. We just recently got the HDTV and I have been astounded at the difference in the picture quality when watching our HD channels and DVDs. The picture is crystal clear and it just brings the movies and tv shows to a whole new level. We love to watch Discovery HD and my kids say that the animals look like they might just walk right off the screen and into our living room. We don't watch a ton of tv but when we do it is nice to have such great picture and sound quality. the speakers on this television are also great. I would love surround sound someday but until then, the sound quality with this machine is fine.

Great colors, Mediocre Blacks, Bad Motion Blur

3

I got this TV because it was on sale at an etailer. For the price it was a great buy, or at least so I thought at first. Hooked up fine to my laptop and I got 1:1 pixelmapping which was great. Used an antenna to get over-the-air programming and that worked fine too. As I started to use it longer, however, I began to notice some obvious and some not-so-obvious things about the set.  First off, I have to say that after calibrating the TV the colors of the set is amazing. It image quality was stunning in that regard. The black levels could be better though, this was made obvious whenever there would be dark scenes in TV programming. Viewing angle isn't too bad on this TV but what was the biggest flaw on this TV is the terrible motion blur that came with it. Whenever there is a scene that involves any sort of panning out it would sort of hurt my eyes. To the trained eye this will be obvious and annoying but to the average consumer it'll probably be noticed subconsciously.  Overall this is a great set for the money, but only if you are willing to put up with subtle motion blur. Would definitely check it out in the store before buying.
