Lg 290c = awesome phone!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I love this phone. I know that that isn't much of an opening to my review but I can't help it. I LOVE THIS PHONE! First of all I want to point out that I use this phone through Tracfone & not StraightTalk. I bought this phone because I was wanting to update my old phone. This one attracted my attention because it has mobile web access & a camera. I bought it for $30 through the Tracfone website. I've also seen this phone at local stores. There are a lot of great features that this phone has. It has a great camera which takes really great pics. I love this feature because I never know when I need my camera for something & I love being able to get a great shot with my phone. This phone also ha...

Good enough for us

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

After buying a house and having a baby, I got this phone about 3 years ago as part of a promotion that verizon wireless was running, it ended up costing me nothing (except for the tax of course). I also got one for my wife, and she likes it a lot. The phone battery has just started to seem to wear out a little, but for the most part the battery life lasts for at least two to three days without a recharge, and what I also like is that you can charge it while it is still on, which makes it a lot easier to hear phone calls and the alarm while it is charging. The voice quality is just about as good as any other phone that we have used in the past. The camera feature is fairly basic, and it isn't a real smooth picture when you move the phone around trying to take a picture. The available options are decent and sufficient. Overall this phone if an incredible deal for the promotion that I got. Next I will be upgrading to the next good deal that verizon has to offer.

Straight Talk cell phone service

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I had been having alot of problems with verizon wireless recently and had started looking into pay as you go phones.  I went to my local walmart and talked with one of the guys in electronics and he explained to me about straight talk.  It is fairly new,  It is from tracfone.  The phones are not the greatest and not a lot to choose from but I decided to give it a shot when I lost my cell phone and it was going to cost me almost 300 dollars from verizon to replace it.  I purchased the samsung r451c slider phone for 100 bucks.  Then I purchased one of the two plans they have available.  30 dollars a month for 1000 minutes, 1000 texts, and 30mg of usage on the...

Lg290c: this thing rocks!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I got this phone a couple months ago when I switched from Verizon to Walmart's phone service plan called Straight Talk. I was kind of apprehensive, as Straight Talk is kind of set up like a pay-as-you-go phone plan, but it's a little different. My biggest concern was that the products would be cheap and break easily, causing me to keep having to buy replacements and such. Well, let me tell you, I was completely wrong! This phone is similar to a phone I had when I was with Verizon but it's newer. My verizon phone was really crappy and the key pad got all scratched so you couldn't see what numbers/letters you were typing when making a phone call or texting. With this phone that problem is solved by utilizing hard plastic for the buttons. I've dropped this thing multiple times and it still has yet to break or ever get scratched, much to my suprise! This phone is pretty basic, but a good value for someone who wants just that: the basics.

LG 290C is a good basic Cell Phone

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

I have had my LG 290C for almost a year now and it is a good basic phone.  I have great service just about anywhere I am and the phone itself works great all of the time.  The battery life is good and I only have to charge it once every couple of days.  Its easy to use and is inexpensive.  However it is a big downgrade from the nice smartphones that contract plans are offering these days.  But you make up for it in overall cost.  For the service I have I only pay $37 per month and that includes text messages and web and all taxes and fees.  Unfortunately you cannot download any games and the web is slow.  Furthermore the phone cannot handle any of the complex websites and you will be unable to view a lot of these sites.  You can access your gmail and facebook but for anything else that requires a sign in you will be out of luck.  The phone has a mediocre camera, but it works ok.  I dont use it much, I'd rather just use a real camera.

LG290C best, cheapest prepay phone.

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

We have to have pre pay phones.  We will never have a contract.  This is the best pre pay phone we have ever had.  All 3 of us have the same phone.  It is good for me and my husband who are used to technology and change and also good for my mother who needs help with the phone some times.  It slides open easily, but can be hard with one hand.  It cost about $80 which I think is kind of a lot, but it has a camera on it.  You can answer the phone without opening it, or by opening it, you can go online with it but it is SLOW, texting is fast and easy, especially with the auto suggest function, the camera takes good pictures, but it could use a light or a ...

Straight Talk is a good deal however this phone is terrible.

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I do like Straight Talk and recommend it to anyone on a budget, has bad credit, or to someone that wants their child to have a phone but also don't want to worry about them going over their minutes. The plans they offer are a great value for the money. I have the unlimited minutes, text, and internet. I even got rid of my home phone because you can't go wrong with this deal. The customer service is not so good, they put you on hold for hours then cut you off, and they are hard for me to understand that is if you can get through to them. This is the phone I have and it's terrible and wouldn't recommend it. However, a friend of mine also has Straight Talk but she has a different phone that worked great where I live, which is in the middle of no where. I would highly recommend Straight Talk to a friend but I would not recommend this phone. My suggestion would be to spend a little extra money and get one of the better phones. After all you go get what you pay for.

Way above my expectations

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

I've never been really too specific about what phone I use. Most of my work involves sitting in front of a computer, so many functions, and all on line functions get done at a desk - thank goodness. So when I bumbled upon thisphone,  considered myself quite lucky. It's been pleasantly surprising me from the word go.

Being a a naturally light user of a cellphone (mostly being desk top bound), choosing to go with tracfone came quite easily. I merely ever only top up with the bare minimum, and seems to be working well for me keeping savings in mind. This phone however, has not entirely been condusive to saving - the screen is plenty big, and the browsing capabilities are very good. And if...

The LG290C

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

This was a brilliant little upgrade for my daughter, who after a years worth of nagging her father (me),  finally got it right. I, however could choose the phone...well seeing that I was paying for it.There are four reasons I stick to keeping my daughter on a tracfone:The handset does not warrant a second mortgage on the house. In fact they're very cheap. The rates for the minutes, and texts are also very cheap. But it's almost a must to have double minutes for life. Without that the rates are rather ordinary.I can buy a small amount of time, at a time. Reason for this being that I'm prepared to some time for her month. But only the amount of time I deem is neccessary to phone her parent...

THE BEST PHONE I HAVE OWNED IN 3 YRS

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

Tracfone finally came out with a great phone and a wonderful service set up. The LG Flip phone is compact and very durable.once your phone is activated, either with a 1000 minutes at 30.00 prepaid card or a Unlimited Minutes at 45.00 a month, This phone has a complete contact section in which it displays  the Name, mobile #s, email addresses, home and work #'s a group entry, and other important entry #s all displayed on one screen. This phone can hold up to 200 messages in the inbox, 1000 contacts in the Contact section, plus it carries Web Browsing  that is very easy to access. The only unfortunate incident I have had came at the end of the month just prior to refilling on the 1st, when my Premium Messaging was blocked for no known reason and it took the company 2 days to reactivate. Otherwise, if Tracfone keeps up their great improvements, I will remain a customer for a very long time.

Straight Talk LG 290c Slider Is A Great Phone At A Great Price

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I got this phone about 2 months ago and absolutely love it. I quit contract phones about 2 years ago and have had several of the prepaid phone services since. I like in a rural area and find that it is hard to find cell service that reaches where I live 100% of the time. Straight Talk reaches 100% of the time and I can answer calls from inside my home. It works off of the Verizon tower in my area. The prices are great and offer a cell phone user everything that you need in a basic package. The only downfall to the package is that your minutes that are unused do not roll over to the next month. The phone itself is a sturdy slide that is easy to use, It has a clear screen and is just the right...

Great product and service at a low, low price!!!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I decided to try the Straight Talk cell phone plan a few months ago and have been very happy with it ever since.  I deicded to buy the LG 290C (one of their more expensive cell phones--$180, I believe), because I wanted texting capabilities, as well as picture messaging.  I can honestly say this phone has everything my Verizon phone had!  The Straight Talk plan ($45/month for unlimited text, talk, and web) can't be beaten, especially since I was paying $165/month (including taxes) for unlimited text and talk (web wasn't included) with Verizon.  The plan's coverage is the same as Verizon (for instance, my phone worked in WV--I live in SC).

The only two cons I can think of are 1) no free games and 2) the mobile web is limited and can be slow.

i love my slide phone.

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

when i first got my LG slide i hated it. it wasnt what i wanted. but after having it for so long ive realized a few things about it that really make it unique. it is really durable. i have dropped my phone so many times and its amazing how this phone isnt destroyed already. also it is good to be able to fit both of your thumbs on it. i text with both of my hands so it helps out alot. when you ffirst get the phone everytime you touch it, it makes a noise. but thank god that the company was gracious enough to put a sound off button. it has a really good music player also. its hard when im at work to bring my purse so i cant really fit both my mp3 player and my phone into my pocket. now i dont have to. all i need is my cell phone and some head phones and im good to go in the mornings and you dont even know how much that means to me. this has many apps as well. im pretty sure you could find just about anything for it.

The LG L290 as clear as you wanted to be.

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

I just this phone about a month ago.  I did research on it and the  reviews were good.  I was to pay for a good cell phone that would not cut me off or run short on battery.  So far this phone has been a great invesment for.  I love it and I keep learning new things about.  This phone isperfect if you just want the minimal technology.  I mean i dont text as much but if I do i s there available.  I dont us ethe internet I rather use the computer.  Plus I have three kiddos that I must chase around, so I dont have time to chat or check e-mail when Im out an about with them.  I love the screen not to big and not small.  Its very bright plus the screen saver is pretty cool.  The key is just perfect big numbers and a space bar.  So far Im very happy with this product.  I recommend this to all those who would like a little tech in their lives.

Great phone for the price

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

What stood out from the start when I first saw this phone (and it's still very impressive) is the very nice LARGE, clear screen. Good color and contrast makes this phone appear to be in a different class from it's closest price competitors. The slide is sturdy and the phone feels good - not too heavy but not flimsy either. It has all the standard features (calendar, calc, bluetooth, etc) you would expect but but navigating the menus are much more intuitive than I've seen with some of the other phone brands. Although the camera is only 1.3mp it takes very decent photos. I have not moved them from the phone yet but they certainly appear to be good on the screen.  The fact t...
