The Goldstar R1203 Window Air Conditioner we have was just one of many appliances that came with our house when we moved here in 2006. (I'm not even sure how old it is, though I did find the owner's manual in a kitchen drawer.) It's mounted in the dining room window, which allows it to cool not just that room but the living room and the guest room as well. Its power is awesome, and it need very little care, just a rinsing of the filter at the start of each season. If there's anything about it I don't like, I would say that it's somewhat noisy on the higher settings, but fortunately I don't need to crank it that high that often. And person who installed it made sure that the moisture it took from the indoor air fell to the ground outdoors, where I have a small flower garden - what a great use for that water! We had an oppressively hot and humid summer last year, and this Goldstar Air Conditioner performed perfectly. I could hardly be happier with it.
