I think it is good for kids to play with legos. It give them time to interact with there self power in there brains, and that give them confidence. Also it is a babystitter when it comes down to getting this done around the house. they are easy to clean and disinfect if they seem to get dirty while they are being played with. After having purchased many Legos, I went to a Lego store and was amazed to see the "wall of Legos," which you can purchase by the bucket full. For a flat fee (around $12), you can fill your bucket from a colorful array of various pieces (many shapes, sizes and colors.) My son spends hours putting together spaceships, cars, trucks, etc., and has truly mastered his fine motor skills by using these little pieces. Now he has moved on to working with the Lego kits, which are also inexpensive, and of course, needs assitance, but he so enjoys them and never seems to tire of them. We have been playing with these Legos for at least six months and without fail, he plays with them about twice a day and often asks to take them to bed with him, out to dinner and generally from room to room! Makes a great gift too and the containers at the store are really cute.
