Our son has been very interested in building things since he was just a toddler. He likes to put to put things together and then take them apart. We bought him his first Bionicle at age three. He of course could not put it together at that age by himself but once I got it together he never put it down and never stopped talking about it. As he has gotten older now at the age of 6 he can build even the most extreme ones all by himself. He can read a little but all the instructions only use pictures which makes it extremely easy for him. They have three movies out as well that make the pretend play that much better because you can see them in action and it provokes the imagination. Lego Bionicles are very durable and they come in such a large variety. You can mix and match the pieces to come up with your own completely original Lego Bionicle. My only flaw is that sometimes the larger piece's are a little hard to snap together for a young child, there are quite a few very small pieces so definitively not appropriate for a child who still puts things in their mouth, and running out of space to store them is another one. But, other than that we have nothing but nice things to say about Lego Bionicles.
