LA Weight Loss Center Program

You don't have to buy their products to do diet

I did the LA Weight Loss Program with my mother for moral support. LA Weight Loss offer supplements, but it main selling point is one on one counseling at a local center. The diet starts off with a 2 day Take Off Juice. This juice and concept is very similar to the Hollywood Diet. The Take Off Juice is to be drunk for 2 days. This is to get the diet rolling on positive note. You'll drop about 5 pounds of water weight during the 2 days. The weight will be regained, but that's okay. The point of this is to not to discourage people from stopping the diet before it really begins. After that you will transition to regular foods high in protein. LA Weight Loss offers supplements and some foods, but mainly most of the food will be purchased from your local supermarket. If you eat within the set menu plans you'll definitely lose weight on a weekly basis. I definitely would recommend LA Weight Loss Center for those looking for moral support and guidance.

LA weight loss program - Works but only while you're on it

If you are looking to lose weight on the cheap, this program is not for you. You will lose weight if you stick to the plan, but it is really expensive in comparison to other programs. I spent the money because, at the time, I was willing to do anything. A huge part of becoming a member of an organization like this is the accountability it brings. I was much more likely to stick to the program if I knew I was going to have to explain myself to someone in two days if I did not. They drive a hard sell too. Even if you don't intend to, you'll end up buying the bars and other products. The bars taste great and are similar to other diet bars like slim fast or atkins. They are like candy bars though, so if you don't like sweets you may not like them. I lost about 20 pounds before I discontinued the plan. The trouble is, after all that time and money, I gained the weight back. This is because you cannot eat these products forever, and at some point you'll have to learn to eat healthy with normal food and normal life circumstances. So, for the money, I would direct your attention to a program that teaches you healthy eating like weight watchers. At least for the money, you have a life skill under your belt. It will be up to you to continue to eat healthy, but don't try and rely on bars and shakes for the rest of your life.

Expensive plan but easy to follow

The LA Weight Loss Center Program is designed to work with your body's natural weight loss processes to optimize safe and fast weight loss. Well, I was upset that there was not a local presence in my area so all the support that I was able to receive was over the phone which makes it harder to get guidance and help. You are given a body mass calculator which did not make much sense to me. Cookbooks and free recipes are available which I did like. This product claims to be backed by research in diet and nutritional science. All products are delivered straight to your door and you can choose between the silver, gold and platinum programs. This product is suppose to burn calories all day long, boost your energy and control your appetite. I'm not sure if other people have seen results with this product but I didn't. Waste of time and money. Effectiveness Not very effective, not happy with results. Felt that it was a waste of time and money. Side Effects Not aware of any side effects. I have read reviews online and people do not seem to talk about side effects. Ease of Use Easy to use and follow.

Inconvenient

I must say that I have tried nearly every diet out there and more and I have in the past tried the L A Weight Loss Program and it worked ok but was very inconvenient for me. I had heard good things about the L A Weight Loss Program so I decided to try it myself and at first they lure you in with low introductory prices and the promise of a lot of weight loss if you follow the program. Well first of all in order to follow the program you had to it their products which turned out to be very expensive and then they want you to come in every other day to be weighed. I see absolutely no reason to weigh more than once and maybe twice a week. Then even if you are following the program and you aren't seeing the loss they promised then they tell you that you must not be doing it right. I must say that I did lose some weight on this L A Weight Loss Programs diet but it was not worth the money. I would certainly not recommend this particular program to any of my friends and family. It is too time consuming.

LA Weight Loss Centers need to do thier homework.

I gave LA Weight Loss Centers a try. The staff was very helpful, friendly and encouraging. But the program itself isn't very healthy, and very confusing. The bars are delicious, but they have too much sugar in them. The prices on their products are too high. You constantly have to go see them. They do not help you very much at all with improving your diet plan. It seems like everytime you report the way you're eating, what you are eating, etc. it's never good enough. It seems like you're constantly making mistakes. I didn't like the experience. But that's just my opinion based on my experience.

This is a total waste of money and didn't work for me.

Hopefully someone will read this review before going to a LA Weight Loss center and spending a lot of money on dubious foods and nutritional supplements.  Fast talking sales pitch, high priced proprietary products and plan is NOT sustainable over the long term.  Eat less and exercise more.  And skip this plan.

Good points and bad

I joined LA Weight Loss several years ago.  I was very young and didn't make that much money but I really needed to lose weight and was willing to try anything.  Let me tell you the pros and cons of this program. Pros:  The support system is excellent.  You have to go and see the 3 times a week.  This is such a huge help to keep you motivated. Cons:  When I first went in to sign up for the program they try and sell you their products.  More like make you feel guilty if you don't buy them.  The woman acted like the program would never work for me if I didn't eat their chocolate bars and that if I didn't do it in the beginning that they would be way too expensive for me later on.  So being the impressionable young person that I was I bought boxes of these bars that I could not afford.  Don't get me wrong the bars tasted very good and are a great thing for you if you like sweets but they are expensive.  Secondly, you have to write down you meals everyday.  One of the ladies got on to me because I ate a tangelo one day instead of a tangerine.  She said I was not allowed those because they are a hybrid fruit.  I thought how ridiculous.  In the end I did lose at least 50 lbs.  so the program works but after I went off of the program I gain 90.  I don't blame them for this because I am responisble for my own self control but for the money they charge and the guilt they put on you I would recommend another program such as WW.

Great Plan - Hard to Follow Sometimes

I went to LA Weight Loss before my wedding because my sister had lost a good amount of weight with them. It was a huge investment to get started, which is kind of a downer, but at least it makes you that much more committed. The diet plan worked great for me, and I lost abotu 75 pounds. The staff was friendly and helpful, and I became close friends with all of them. When I would hit a plateau, they were there to offer advice and ways to get out from under it, and genuinely offered help. The downsides are that you HAVE to buy their expensive bars to make your daily food schedule work out. Plus, doing the food plan is very hard to do once you're not on their strict diet plans. I tried to stay with their program after the wedding, but they closed my location down. It kind of stunk too because I had bought bars that I didn't get and they closed and didn't give them to me. I tried calling their office, and they said they would mail them to me...that was three years ago and no bars.

A good diet plan gone bad

I was so excited when my husband and I joined LA Weight Loss as I'd heard many reports of others who had done well on the diet.  And we, too, did well.....at first.  About a month into the diet they changed from the colored plans, which my husband and I were both doing very well on, to numbered plans which did not work well for us at all.  The counselors kept saying "but you get more carbs on this plan".......well more carbs is what helped us get as overweight as we were to begin with and we did not do well on the new plan.  I felt they had to know a new plan was in the works when we signed up, and I felt it was deceptive for them not to disclose that information to us when we signed up.  Had we known what they were changing the plan to, we would never have signed the contract to begin with.  I also had an allergic reaction to their food products, which are high in soy.  They supposedly have dieticians who can help to tailor the plan to your needs, but not once did I ever have any contact with a dietician and it certainly didn't appear the counselors were following up on my behalf.  I felt they were more interested in getting us to buy their products than resolving these types of problems, and I felt their sales tactics were very high pressure.  The original diet we first started when we joined LA Weight Loss was a good one, but the customer service was awful.  Ultimately our center closed and left us high and dry, without notice and, of course, without a refund of the remaining portion of our contract.  It's unfortunate the company didn't have higher ethical standards.....their product was great (before they changed it).....their level of customer service and business practices were not.

Too many cooks in the kitchen.................

I tried LA Weight Loss a few years ago and had minimal success.  First of all, they take you in for a private "interview" to find out why you want to lose weight and to tell you about thier program.  They make it sound so easy, but they neglect to tell you certain things until after you sign on the dotted line.  For one thing, they neglected to tell me that for the first week I had to drink this god-awful liquid and nothing else.  They also said that they have food products that they recommend but you don't have to buy them, but what they don't tell you is that if you don't buy and use thier product, they will not honor the weight loss guaruantee.  Thirdly, they start you off with one "counseler",( and I use that term loosely), for the first week.  Then every time you come in after that, you have someone new.  They have no idea what your history is, you are just a name on a page.  And worse than that, each person gave me a different set of standards everytime I went.  One person would say you can't eat onions, but you can eat peppers.  And the next person would say the complete opposite.  I was trying to follow the advise that was given to me each time and ended up in a Yo-Yo effect:  up a pound, down a pound, and getting more confused and frustrated with each visit.  I finally told them I wanted out, and they did refund my remaining money that I paid up front.  Although I had to write a letter to the Corporate Headquarters to get it back.  I would not recommend this program unless you just want a place to weigh in.
