We just purchased our first home and had a house warming party. Krups 10 Cup Rice Cooker happened to be among the many small appliances we received. I have never had a rice cooker before but was quite surprised at how easy it is to adjust to using one. My favorite feature of this one in particular is that certain areas of the machine are detachable and, not only washable but, machine washable.I was quite happy and impressed with that knowledge - I definitely appreciate the convenience, any way I can get it. More good news, my Krups Rice Maker also came with a one year limited warranty for added piece of mind. Besides the warranty, the rice maker also came with a recipe book, measuring cup, a stir paddle and a mini paddle rest. I initially thought it was mainly for rice but the recipe book that came with it proved otherwise. I have tried several of the recipes and they are definitely worth trying. After experimenting a bi I would say that this rice maker is extremely similar to a crock pot. While cooking I noticed it has a built in condensation layer that traps the beaded steam that would other wise run down the side of the outer pan and possibly leave a condensation ring. Krups 10-Cup Rice Cooker is excellent! My family uses it almost weekly for rice, vegetables, slower cooker meals and even oatmeal. It comes with some recipes and a great manual, explaining all the wonderful different functions and uses of the Krups 10-Cup Rice Cooker. We have made breakfast, lunch, and dinner entrees and side dishes using the Krups 10-Cup Rice Cooker. I, personally, love that the Krups 10-Cup Rice Cooker can steam vegetables while cooking rice. I have never had rice over-cooked or undercooked when using the Krups 10-Cup Rice Cooker. It also steams fruits perfectly for purees or applesauce. The slow-cooker options in the Krups 10-Cup Rice Cooker work just as well as a stand-alone slow-cooker or crock pot. The Krups 10-Cup Rice Cooker is somewhat easy to clean, but some of the parts are small or troublesome to re-attach after cleaning. Also, the Krups 10-Cup Rice Cooker can get mold if stored before perfectly dried. We usually have to let the Krups 10-Cup Rice Cooker air-dry overnight before storing it prevent moisture issues.

I haven't used this a lot yet, but it has worked well so far. I held out way too long before buying one! Way less pain in making rice. It seems to take not only less work and less mess but less time to actually cook the rice. The pot is non-stick, so clean up is very easy, and nothing to clean up from boiling over on the stove! Dump the the amount of rice you need, add the suggested amount of water, close the lid and turn it on. I did think it could you just a TOUCH more water than was called for, but not necessary. The only thing I think is kind of weird is that it doesn't show anything different after you actually turn it on. The first time I used it I actually opened the lid to make sure it was working. Also, I did not hear anything when it was done. I just checked it and saw that it was on the warming mode (which is what they do when the rice is done). This model can also be used as a steamer (basket included) and a slow cooker. I have not tried those functions yet. Performance Seems to work well, the rice was evenly cooked and quite good. Ease of Cleaning Non stick removable pot and nylon utensil clean very easily. Ease of Use Very simple. Don't try to over-complicate it. Durability So far. so good! Design It does the job easily and well. I haven't found anything to complain about.

Always cooks my rice perfectly. I have learned that I usually have to add a little more water than the manual says but other than that, it's very easy to use and works well! Ease of Cleaning One part of the lid can be removed and cleaned which is good because it gets very grimy.

I got this slow cooker as a wedding gift and managed to use it only twice before it broke down. During the third use, after selecting slow cook mode, the machine switched to keep warm mode for no apparent reason. I started over in case of operator error, but the problem persisted, and a quick online search revealed that this is apparently a more widespread problem.

We received our Krups 10-cup rice cooker as a wedding gift and I love it! The Krups rice cooker is very stylish and digital so it is very easy to use and always makes perfect rice! It is also great for other things such as steaming your veggies! I give this product a 4 out of 5 stars because the only thing I dont like about this product is the water collection bin and the fact the lid does not come off to completely wash it. The rice container and the inside lid easily comes out for washing but underneath the lid sometimes can be tricky to clean. Usually I get a damp wash cloth and wipe it down. Overall I lreally like this Krups rice cooker a lot and would recommend it to my friends and family members!

I bought this because it was advertised as being a combination crock pot, steamer, and rice cooker. I was mainly looking to use it as a crock pot and rice cooker. Both modes of operation work very well and I've been quite happy. It's very well-built, easy to clean, and lets you easily switch between its different modes. I would say that it works great as a rice cooker / crock pot but it's only so-so as a steamer. There is a flimsy little plastic insert that is supposed to sit on top of water that is used for steaming but this really doesn't hold much in the way of food. This conveniently has a timer in slow cooker mode and then automatically switches to "keep warm" operation. I use this to slow cook over night all the time. The keep warm mode keeps most dishes hot enough that you don't need to worry about going bad. I only wish that it had both "low heat" and "high heat" modes of operation. You can only choose between steaming, rice cooking, slow cooking, and keep warm.

We eat a lot of rice in this house and until a couple of years ago, we had never been able to find a rice cooker we liked. After living in Indonesia for a few months, we became accustomed to their rice cookers and really liked the way they worked - with the lid attached to the base instead of a glass top that let all the steam out. Shortly after we moved back to the States, my husband found the **Krups FDH212 10-Cup Automatic Rice Cooker with Slow Cooker and Steamer **online and gave it to me for Christmas. It was the perfect gift and I have used it to make bowl after bowl of perfectly steamed rice. It's incredibly simple to use (although the only thing I use it for is making rice, so I can't tell you how it does at steaming vegetables or cooking anything other than rice) and easy to clean - everything is dishwasher safe. I love the water collection bin on the side of the cooker, so that when I'm done making rice, all I have to do is pull off the bin and dump out the rice water - so easy! It's also dishwasher safe, so after a cleaning on the top rack, it's good to go. The removable side "holster" for the rice spoon is a nice touch, and since both the spoon and the "holster" can be sent through the dishwasher, I have no qualms putting my dirty rice spoon back in its spot instead of dirtying my countertop. It's a little thing, but well thought out. The inside of the lid is also removable and dishwasher safe, so once I'm done cooking, I pull that out and throw it in the dishwasher, along with the non-stick rice pot. There are two other things I need to mention as positives before I quit: 1. I love that I can make rice in this pot, close the lid, wrap the cord around the base, and take it like that - fully contained - to a friend's house for dinner. Perfect! 2. I love the *warming feature*! We have been in the middle of making dinner when something has come up and we have had to leave for two hours or more. When we get back, the rice is still warm, but not dried up or crispy or burned. LOVE!!

I received this rice cooker as a gift. I am notorious for my inability to cook any type of rice which is why my future mother-in-law decided to buy it for me. After using it several times, I am impressed!Although the *Krups 10-Cup Rice Cooker* can also be used as a steamer and slow cooker, I have only and will only use it for rice. I own a steamer basket and two CrockPots, so I don't need this machine to multitask for me.It is very easy to use this rice cooker. It comes with a measuring cup, so you simply add your desired cups of rice to the nonstick internal pot and then fill it up with water to the corresponding mark on the side of the pot. After the machine is loaded, you just set it to "rice cooking" and hit start. The *Krups 10-Cup Rice Cooker* determines exactly how long it needs to run according to the type and amount of rice contained within.When all is said and done, this product makes some incredible rice. It is cooked, firm, and without a trace of starchy stickiness. Cleanup is easy too: just throw the nonstick pot into the dishwasher and wipe the outside of the machine with a damp rag.   As an aside: as someone who owns three parrots, I wasn't happy when I discovered that the pot had a nonstick coating since PTFE is toxic to birds.  It runs on low temperatures, though, and I keep it next to the exhaust fan so I am comfortable with using it in the house.This is probably my second favorite Christmas present... the first, of course, being my Apple iPhone! The *Krups 10-Cup Rice Cooker* is easy to use, easy to clean, and it makes fabulous rice. Anyone who is rice-challenged like me should look into this machine!
