I like to use an oil that is better for you and is versatile at the same time, that's where Extra Virgin Olive Oil comes in. I never thought you could taste the difference in oil but once I did taste it even I could taste a difference.

Kroger Extra Virgin Olive Oil

I like to use EVOO for many things, I use it when I make my own marinades as it doesn't add a lot of unwanted fat to my dishes. I also like to crush fresh garlic and EVOO to fix garlic toast or brush on a cut of meat I am grilling outside. A little apple cider vinegar and EVOO makes for a nice little salad dressing as well with a bit of fresh oregano and basil mixed in. I even like to just fry me a couple of slices of green tomato and eggs for a nice breakfast. Even great for searing meat as it adds a nice flavor especially after you add some diced onions to it.

I also like to slice some fresh ripe tomatoes, red onions and chop a little basil, black pepper then salt lightly and toss a little EVOO on it all and have a light snack. Green onions work good too....;)

Nutritional Facts

Serving size is 1 tbls.

Calories 120, Total Fat is 14g, with 2 Saturated, 2 Polyunsaturated, 10 Monounsaturated and Zero Trans Fat. With No Cholesterol, Sodium, Carbs or Protein.

This is Packed in Italy and is a cold pressed olive oil. Which means the olives were not heated to extract the oil but was kept under 80 degrees (room temp almost)

Bottom Line

I use it when ever I can and enjoy the flavor of it, I was even using it before my Dr. suggested it because it was better for me. I like when I am ahead of the Dr. lol It just has so many uses as do most oils but it tastes better and is better for you.

Great for the hair AND skin! Olive oil is excellent for all kinds of stuff. I always wondered though how anything can be EXTRA virgin. I mean...ahh never mind. ;)

Nope no Big Bears here, never seen one in fact. ;)

They might be in Illinois around the Illinois Indiana border and possibly in Southern, but I am up near the Wisconsin border. Do you have Big Bears by you, does Big Bear still exist? We had those in Ohio as well, but I have not seen them here.

They were here but then Dillons (Kroger) added on to all its stores and started selling cookware, utensils, dishes and even furniture. So now they are giving them a run for the money. ;)

Dang I thought they were all over Illinois, especially since Indiana has so many. ;)

I miss Krogers! I wish they hadn't closed all of the stores here. Geesh. Walmart is taking over slowly but surely!

Nice healthy snack. We don't have Kroger's here, we had them when I lived in Ohio, but there are none in this part of Illinois.

Great review! Alas, I guess I will never get to a Kroger's but I love olive oil too. I toss a little through hot pasta and when I bake fish, I use no coating except for a little olive oil and lemon pepper sprinkled on top.

We love this and use it religiously! It's more expensive the the other cooking oils but its worth it.
