Pros

Great Vanilla taste, Not too Sweet, Easy on the wallet

Remember back a long time ago when a trip to the drug store included sitting at the snack bar. Ordering one of those fantastic fountain drinks with a squirt of vanilla, then taking that first sip and smiling ear to ear at the great flavor. Well I found a time machine that takes me back at least 30 years! I have tried the other Vanilla Colas that have come out over the years, some good some not so good. They either had too much vanilla, fizz or were just horrible period.

Big K Vanilla Cola

I found this last week on a grocery trip to Dillons and decided to give it a try as I had not seen this one before and wanted a treat. After I got home and chilled them over night I opened one up, if I didm't like it the kids would devour them so I wasn't worried they would go to waste. In eager anticipation I opened one and took my first sip, WOW I was in heaven from my first sip.

I was back in the 70's again and I loved it, this Big K Vanilla Cola was just like I remember getting from the soda jerk at my old pharmacy in Maryland. It is just the right sweetness, not too much fizz and the Vanilla IS perfect! Now I can feel young again and get that great fountain taste from so long ago.

Bottom Line

A great taste and generic pricing, what more could you ask for. Some of the BIG Names  have similar products but why pay their BIG Prices when you don't have too. Adding your own vanilla is fine but with this you don't have to experiment to get it right, they already did it for you. Yep this old Redneck can once again enjoy the taste from long ago and smile while doing it!

Apparently I am not the only one to discover the vanilla, I have seen at most 4 12 packs on the shelf everytime I go there, of course there are ZERO on the shelf when I leave! ;)

PattyTherre wrote on May 6, 2008 at 11:54PM

Heck, if this makes you feel young again, I'll take 100 cases! I need at least that much to make me feel young these days!

A lot of the "Generic" brands taste just as good if not better than the big boys. ;)

Fardreamer wrote on May 5, 2008 at 2:02PM

I never got to experience the whole soda fountain thing, but I love the Coca-Cola equivalent to Big K. I don't think we have that brand here....
