I am not usually a fan of tomato based products (excluding spaghetti sauces), but chose this flavor over the other one as a "lesser of two evils". I was pleasantly surprised by the taste. The texture and flavor were very rich (for a cream cheese spread). I would definitely use this spread as a snack time treat.
I used this spread on multi-grain Wheat Thins. I don't usually use any kind of topping on Wheat Thins, but this product has definitely changed my mind. This product made a snack that I already enjoy even better! I did notice however that the basil flavor seemed to be lacking in my opinion. This did not make the flaor bad, but if someone was expecting a stronger basil flavor they would likely be disappointed. I also gave this to my 2 yound children. The oldest one enjoyed it , but my youngest was not fond of it at all. It's possible that a different flavor would have helped, but I am not sure.
As I mentioned before, I would definitely use this product as a snack time treat. I would also serve it as a snack at a party. It is a great alternative to the normal party dip choices served. Of course, I would likely provide more than one choice in flavors. I also think that a "light" version of this may be a good idea for those that would like the product but with less calories. Overall I think that the cream cheese would definitely be a hit!
