This item is relatively new on the market.  It is getting air time and that is how I knew about it.  I wasn't going to waste my money just to go out and get another jar of mayonnaise.  But then I realized that my mayonnaise was probably pretty old.  Yeah, it expired back in March. So I chunked it in the garbage and added this to my list.  That's not a very prudent thing to so but I'm single and many things sit in the fridge or pantry for a really long time because I can't use them that quick.

Before the mayonnaise critics get offended let me tell you a little something about myself.  For years I have used Dukes light mayonnaise for food preparation and recently I began using Miracle Whip for sandwiches.  So I straddle the fence when it comes to what brand I will buy.  I set out to buy Kraft because I thought it was the only brand out there but Hellmans or Dukes also had their own variety.  So, how did I make my choice?  Easy--I went after the cheapest one!  Yes, the other brand was about 75 cents more.

The label on the Kraft bottle; which by the way is plastic says: "Reduced Fat Mayonnaise: 1/2 the fat and calories of mayonnaise."  So, this was good for the health conscious girl who always gets the light mayonnaise.

Now, I don't eat sandwiches or rather bread.  I find bread to be a waste of carbs and calories.  My family and friends laugh at "how" I eat sandwiches.  The bread only serves to hold the sandwich together for me as I pull everything out as I go.  So, my purpose of wanting the product  was to peak my curiosity about a mayonnaise made with olive oil because I thought this was probably going to be pretty healthy.

I used it to make chicken salad and it was yummy!  There is just enough hint of some seasoning, perhaps the olive oil, to give the mayonnaise a wonderful taste.  It is very creamy.  You can see it sliding off the knife, spoon in my case because I was making the salad.  Now, I'm not sure how good this will be as a real mayonnaise on a sandwich.  In my head I'm thinking it will be really good IN food prep but you might want to stick with another mayonnaise for a sandwich.

OK, now this might gross you out.  How many of you lick the spoon after preparing something?  I usually will unless it is a condiment but I licked the spoon after making the salad and this mayonnaise was superlicious!

It's GREAT on sandwiches!

I licked the spoon too! I would never do that with regular (or regular light) mayo. But this mayo with olive oil has a good smell and it is so smooth. Now I have to find it again. I am only finding "full fat" Kraft with olive oil. I only use light.

This one is really good when used in potato salada or cole slaw. It gives the dish that extra zing!

I hadn't heard of this one before. I bet I have a lot of expired things in my refrigerator!

Olive oil has a taste to it which is why I think they didn't put it in mayo before.

This sounds like a good product. I'll have to look for it the next time I go to the store.
