My Disappointing Koss BUDZ Consumer Headphones Experience

These ear buds come in a hard plastic case and actually contain two pairs of buds in one case. We didn't need two sets but, for the price, we couldn't complain (yet). The case is a wind up one with a circle in the middle to wrap the cords around, then lay the buds down. I like case much better than the actual ear buds. The ear buds have a very light covering of black foam and are large. They seem to be larger than other ear buds in diameter and definitely were too big for my ears.

I hate ear buds since I think they are tortuous and they seem to always feel like they are ready to fall out of my ears. Still, I have grown accustomed to the ones that came with my iPod and they fit pretty well. These buds are so large that I had a hard time inserting them and getting them to stay in my ears. The foam did nothing to protect my ears from the hard plastic underneath and they irritated my ears almost immediately. The sound is that of two tin cans connected by a string. It is awful. I have some hearing loss in the high frequencies so I had my sons try them. They declared that these were "pure junk" and refused to use them after listening with them for a few minutes. None of us could stand these so we ditched them and bought different ear buds. I got headphones to avoid the painful bud thing.

My Viewpoint

I knew the sound quality wouldn't be great because these were so cheap but I didn't expect the discomfort and the hard to fit ear buds. They simply do not seem made to conform to a person's ear which is kind of strange considering that is the only thing they are for. I was very unimpressed with these ear buds and would never buy them again.

I am surprised that Koss would make such poor quality ear buds. After all, sound is their business. I don't recommend these to anyone. They will be much too large to fit into a child's or young teen's ears and I don't think any adult would be content with the sound quality even if they managed to get the buds to fit properly. I give these 1 star. The plastic carry case is nice but, other than that, there really aren't many positives about these ear buds except for price.
