The Konica Minolta camera takes good pictures, but slowly.

We purchased this camera from an auction for pretty cheap, and I definately would not have paid full price for it. This camera does take good quality photos if you are super still, and can get everyone to hold their poses for a full minute. For some reason it seems to take a very long time to take a photo, and you miss a lot like the baby smiling and what not before the camera takes the picture. It can be very frustrating at times.

A full featured 35mm SLR digital camera in a compact size

I have been an amatuer photographer for years and over the years I have had and used several different models and name brands of 35mm Cameras.  I have used fixed lens cameras, exchangeable lens cameras, Single Lens Reflex Cameras and fixed view finder Cameras.  The Konica Minolta DiMage A2 is amost all of those cameras in one.  The only one of the aformentioned features it doers not have is an exchangeable lens.  I love the fact that with just a flip of a knob, you can switch between the Single Lens Reflex mode for traditional 35mm picture taking through the view finder and picture taking using the built in digital monitor.  With just the flip of another switch you can go from still digital camera mode to digital movie camera mode.  This camera is capable of communicating with you in several diffent languages.  There is more than enough storage space on the camera.  it is easy to delete unwanted photos.  You can delete them one at a time or dump everything at once.  This is not the first digital camera I ever used, but it is the first one that I ever owned.  I'm glad I chose this model not only because of the features, but also because of the quality of the photos it takes,  The lens can zoom from 50mm out to 120mm.  Not only is the picture quality good, the sound quality of the movie camera is also very good.  The only negatives I have found are one, it can be confusing to use if you are a first time user and the SLR feature takes some getting used to.  I fouind that my photos using the monitor comes out better than those taken through the view finder.  I also find the auto focus feature a little weak.

Great starter, great price

I actually originally bought an older version of this camera and I love it.  It's compact enough that you can carry it to lots of places to get pictures of great views without having to worry about all the different lenses.  It clearly isn't built to compete with traditional SLRs, but it's perfect for anyone who like to play with photography as a hobby and wants something more versatile than a basic point and shoot. When it is on its highest resolution, I've printed out huge movie poster size pictures without any blurring. Definately worth the money.  You can make all the basic adjustments with this, so it's great to practie with, or you can put it on auto-focus to make you rlife esaier.  If you want a more serious picture for somethign more professional, stick to a Nikon and buy yourself lots of lenses, if you want something a bit more basic, this is for you.

HIGH QUALITY PICTURES! VERY PLEASED WITH THIS CAMERA

OF ALL THE CAMERAS I'VE OWNED OVER THE YEARS, THIS ONE IS DEFINITELY MY FAVORITE. GREAT PICTURES, EASY TO USE AND ALL THE BELLS AND WHISTLES THAT I, AS AN AMATURE PHOTO BUFF, COULD POSSIBLY WANT. IT'S ALSO LIGHT WEIGHT, WHICH IS IMPORTANT SINCE I TRAVEL AND SOMETIMES CARRY MY CAMERA FOR HOURS AT A TIME. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS CAMERA BUFFS TO ALL WHO ENJOY TAKING GOOD QUALITY PICTURES WITH A CAMERA THAT IS FAIRLY SIMPLE TO OPERATE
