One tough chew toy!

5

We bought this Kong Goodie Bone dog toy for our two dogs when they were young and active. One of our dogs is a very active chewer and part pit bull so she has strong jaws. She loved chewing on this toy to get the treats out. Our other dog enjoyed trying to get the treats out...it kept her busy so she wouldn't get into other things as she is part collie/german shepherd. After a few months, our dogs seemed to get bored with it. I think they may have gotten bored with it because they couldn't get anything off of it to chew on and eat. The Kong Goodie bone is on the expensive side of toys, but you won't have to replace it as often, if at all. I was quite impressed at how ours survived both of our dogs growing old. We have now passed this toy on to a family member's dog who is a major chewer in hopes that it will help calm her down and keep her busy when her owner leaves for work. The ends have a little slot (with groovies to help hold the treat in) to put a little tasty treat. We would put a little bit of peanut butter or a cheese ball in the ends so it would stay in there pretty well.

Another good Kong product

Another good product by Kong. This toy is the perfect size for my meduim size dog yet stong enough to withstand her powerful jaws and rough play. It is a bit heavy to use indoors yet if your careful it can be done without breaking anything. A great toy to play fetch yet also allows for some mild chewing which is great excercise for the jaws. Unfortunately my dog gets bored of toys easily but this one has held her attention and interest. Just because it has the Kong name doesn't make it a durable, good toy however this particular toy is definately recommended for medium dogs. It may not be good for smaller dogs to due to its size and weight. If you have a real chewer, I also would not recommend this as we have to watch carefully when our dog (who loves to chew) plays with this. Maybe it's because of the material it is made out of but, she really seems to enjoy playing with this bone but doesn't look to sit and chew it (which is very rare). Overall, if you have a medium - largge dog who loves to play fetch, this might be the toy for you.

The Kong Goodie Bone Toy can take whatever your dog has to give!

My very large dog just adores his Kong Dog Bone Toy. He can chew on it for hours, keeping himself busy and happy in the process. The shape is great, just like a real bone. I don't know what Kong toys are made of, but they hold up better than any other product I have tried.

Kong Goodie Bone Dog Toy Goes Missing

4

The Kong Goodie Bone Dog Toy was a great toy when my dog was younger. When she was first a puppy and not as big this toy would hold her attention for hours. It's easy to put in the treats, which is always the first thing I check for. And it would usually take her 30 mins to remove the treats but then she was interested in the toy and would spend the next few hours just chewing on it. When she began to get older she would chew more heavily on the bone and eventually ended up eating one end off. It took her awhile to eat off the end of the bone because the material is strong but little by little the end went missing. I think it would be a great product for younger dogs or even smaller ones. And if you have a larger dog that likes to chew alot I would watch them with it in case they want to do the same and eat off the end. It was a great toy while it lasted but we eventually had to throw it out.

I have tried them all; only the Kong survives my Lab!

My labrador retriever is 4 years old and still chews like a puppy!  I have tried just about every toy on the market.  The cheap ones, the fancy ones, the stuffed ones, the hard ones, the flimsy ones, the designed-for-heavy-chewers ones, the solid ones.  She has managed to destroy ALL of them - and usually pretty quickly.  She has never destroyed a single Kong toy. When she was a puppy, I got her the standard cone-shaped puppy toy.  We finally threw it away last week because it was starting to show some wear.  But it was still in tact, structurally.  She has had several Kong toys and she loves all of them.  I recently bought her the bone-shaped treat dispenser, and it is now her go-to toy.  She gets it out of her toy box and brings it to us to play.  She also loves when we shove the treats down in the ends - an added way to keep her occupied, as well.  We've discovered that the hard bones fit in there, as well as some peanut butter, which will keep her occupied a little longer.  You'll pay more for a Kong toy, but you'll buy far fewer toys!

A Long-Lasting Favorite

Every morning, after a quick trip outside, my husky mix dog is eager for her morning treat.  We put a biscuit in one or both ends of the Kong Goodie Bone and off she goes.  Depending on how well we have put the treat in, it keeps her busy from several seconds to several minutes.  I was hesitant to buy one, as they are expensive, but it was a good investment.  We have had the same Goodie Bone for over four years and I expect, despite some intensive chewing on a daily basis, it will last several more years.  Every few days I put the Goodie Bone in the dishwasher to clean and sanitize it - it comes out good as new.  My dog looks forward to her treat filled bone every morning. She loves her Goodie Bone.

Keeps my dog busy while I scoot out of the house!

My dog suffers a bit of separation anxiety when I leave the house.  As soon as I get the two milk-bones out of the box she runs to the goodie bone and waits for it.  It makes it easier for me to leave since she's focused on getting the milk-bones out of the kong and less on me leaving.  It's great that it holds two bones so it takes more work for her to get to the treat.
