Not as durable as it claims to be.

Kong Dog Toy —

These may be great toys for less aggressive chewers but my Labrador Husky mix nearly destroyed it is less than a day. I had to pick up bits & pieces behind her as she chewed it apart as I did not want her to swallow any. Would not recommend for power chewers or aggressive chewers at all. Not near as durable as I had hoped... especially for the amount of money you pay for this toy. My Anatolian Shepherd wanted nothing to do with it.

Not sure if the more durable black Kong was on the market yet when this review was posted, but our aggressive chewer can't make a dent in it, and he was able to gnaw the red (original) Kong pretty severely in no time. The black "extreme" version is notably more durable.

I so agree I have three furgurls and my 5 mth maltese mix is a chewer and she chewed right through the rope and the rubber part so it left a mess and afraid she swallowed some of the ruuber.

My lab is a power chewer as well as my boxer mix, I get the king kong for extra large dogs and they do much better with that.
