Kong dog toys make great dog chews with added fun! Some dogs love to chew and will chew things just for something to do and having a kong toy on hand to occupy them is a good idea. You can add peanut butter inside the Kong and it will keep them busy trying to get the treat out of it. It provides hours of fun and the dogs don't ever get sick of playing with it and chewing on it. They are made of super durable rubber. They are pretty close to indestructible. They withstand hours and hours of rough play without falling apart and puppies sharp teeth are no match for Kong. I used to buy nylabones but my dogs seem to use the Kong a lot more. I know with my dogs they love anything new they get for a little while and then they kind of get sick of it and stop playing with it. The Kong has really kept My dogs intrest and I think it's because of the added treat inside. My border collie thinks that she was put on this earth to destroy any and everything in get path. She has destroyed many a door and window from her incessant chewing and most toys hold no interest with her but even she loves Kong toys. I don't know about the breath freshening but I can say that the kongs must clean there teeth because of the rubber dragging across the teeth so much as they chew and lick. Its a long lasting toy that will definitely provide lots of fun. They are available at most pet care supply stores. They are a bit expensive, but it's worth it for how long lasting they are. They are a much safer alternative to rawhides or bones. No worry about them choking or swallowing none splinters. Check the Kong for damages before use and it's pretty safe. I think most dogs will love it and it should clean the teeth if they chew on it. I would recommend it to dogs who are energetic or dogs who love to chew. It works great for my dog who looses interest very quickly in toys so if and when she wears hers out I will definitely go out and purchase another for her.

I purchased this for my puppy since she has several Kong toys and enjoys them all. As with all of her other toys from the same brand this is durable and she loves playing with it. The vet recommended using hard treats in either end as a way to entertain her but she doesn't respond well to them. Peanut butter is much more successful however it can create quite a mess. I've found that using a knife to get the peanut butter as far down as possible into the depression while keeping it off the top edge works best. This is also incredibly durable. My puppy has very sharp teeth and she chews on this all the time but it's still in wonderful condition. I never have to worry about pieces breaking off and her swallowing them. She also loves to throw it down the hardwood stairs and it remains undamaged. As for improving her dental health I haven't really seen any difference, but she is still a puppy. Overall, this is a fun, entertaining toy for medium sized dogs and will last a very long time. I definitely recommend it.

My dog loves the KONG Dental Dog Toy! It keeps him entertained for hours and hours. I have tried using both solid dog treats and peanut butter inside of the kong and I would definitely recommend the solid dog treats over the peanut butter. When I used the peanut butter it made such a mess! I had peanut butter everywhere. The only downfall to this product is its price. I feel it is a bit expensive for what it is. But, this product is nice and durable, it is made of a very hard rubber so it lasts for a good amount of time. If you have a big dog though, this may get destroyed quicker. Quality of Ingredients The KONG Dental Dog Toy is made of a hard rubber so it is pretty durable. The first time I tried this out was a couple years ago and I have only purchased two in that amount of time. They last for a reasonable amount of time. Side Effects I do not notice a huge difference in my dogs breath or with his dental hygiene, but my dog loves to play with it either way!

This toy has kept my lab mix busy for hours on end! She loves to chew on it and throw it around the house. I think it is impossible to break this thing. The toy is made out of hard rubber. My dog has sharp teeth and she usually tears toys to pieces but it is impossible for her to destroy this! This toy is also wonderful for my dogs teeth. She can chew on it for a long time and this cleans her teeth so I do not have to try and brush her teeth myself! The price is a little high, but the quality and durability of the toy makes up for the price tag. I got the larger toy for my dog, but I like that there are other sizes for smaller breeds. This is a high quality product and toy that every dog owner should own for the pets enjoyment and for healthy teeth. I'm happy to say that my dogs KONG Dental Dog Toy is his favorite. It's his favorite because he likes to chew on things and he likes to chew hard! This is one of the only toys that holds up to his abuse. He can chew on it for hours and it's still as good as new. I love it because he of the specially designed grooves because it's designed to clean my dog's teeth while he chews. It also keeps his breath fresher because his teeth are cleaner. I couldn't be happier with this product. I'd much rather pay a little more for a quality toy that I don't have to worry about falling apart and causing a choking hazard or worse. Some toys can cause obstructions in dog's tummies if they aren't supervised while playing and happen to swallow a piece of the toy. I buy almost strictly Kong brand products for my dog at this point. After our dog managed to destroy every rope and chew toy we found for her (and in a matter of hours after getting them) we were ready to give up but decided to take a chance on one more and bought a Kong. Five years later we will only use Kong and the Dental one is specially designed with grooves and nooks to help scrape and clean my dog's teeth as she chews on it. It's the same classic red as the others in the brand, and the same semi-bouncy indestructible rubber material. There's also still holes for treats or Kong foam (we don't use these) but usually we'll just play catch a few times with it and then she gets into chewing it and we'll let her, since it's supposed to help clean her teeth. I get that it's hard to prove the effectiveness, but she hasn't had any dental issues in years and this is cheaper/healthier than all the different edible chews for dog's dental prevention. It looks almost like new after a year, we doubt we'll have have to replace it. Side Effects There are no side effects.

I bought my dog Derby the Kong Dental Dog Toy because there wasn't a dog toy or piece of furniture in my house that he wouldn't try and chew through. The Kong Toy was great for him because not only did it satisfy his chewing needs, but it massaged his gums, helped clean his teeth, and eventually reduced the amount of plaque/build up he had. No matter how much or how hard he chewed the Kong he couldn't break it, it was great. It was also great because I could put his treats in the middle of the Kong and it kept him pre-occupied all day because he had to work to get al the treats out. As a special treat sometimes I would put peanut butter in the inside. I know it would create a huge mess but he absolutely loved it. He never broke his Kong, and it lasted him as long as he lived. Derby is gone but his Kong toy is still here, and it's still in great shape. Kong Toys are made to last, and great for dogs of all sizes, especially large breed dogs like boxers. Not only did it help with his teeth but it kept him from chewing things in the house, and taught him that he had to work for his treats. If I ever got another dog I would buy them there own Kong to play with. Quality of Ingredients Kong Toys are made out of high quality, chew and puncture resistant rubber. It's meant to work a dogs teeth and gums, making them strong and preventing plaque buildup. It also helps get rid of bad breath because it is getting rid of plaque and tartar. My new boxer puppy loves to chew on things. Some of those things are objects he should NOT be chewing on. [Goodbye shoes!] I was buying him chew toys but he would destroy them in a matter of days. I buy him rawhide bones but then there are sharp pieces laying around my house for me to step on. I saw the KONG Dental Dog Toy online and decided to order it and see how he liked it because it had great reviews and seemed sturdy. The reviews were correct; this is a great chew toy and keeps his teeth clean! My dog loves this thing! I place some treats in it and he gets so excited. Not only has he stopped chewing on our household objects but he is burning off energy as well from tossing the toy around. This toy has not been torn into pieces yet, so it is durable. I am not actually sure how much it is benefiting his teeth yet since he hasn't had the toy long. If you have a larger dog that has a tendency to destroy his/her chew toys, this is a GREAT option for you! Quality of Ingredients Very study! My dog hasn't been able to chew it up, thankfully.

Our 1 year old Maltese puppy at the time chewed everything in site. She also tore up all of her toys and chewed them to shreds. She chewed furniture, shoes and whatever else was around her. It was suggested we get this Kong chew toy to keep her busy. She did not seem interested in playing with it at all. She would get the treat out in no time and toss it aside. We tried peanut butter and she would lick that out in no time too. In less than ten minutes the Kong was a bore to her. We once had to crate her for a few hours and we put the Kong in with her. We came back and found one end chewed and broken off. We couldn't find the piece so she must have swallowed it. For an item that claims to be virtually indestructible our little chewing 8 pound Maltese found a way to destroy it. We obviously took it away since she was eating it. I'm sure it's good for most dogs, but it didn't work for our dog. If you have a destructive chewing dog, then I would not recommend this item for your dog.

We have a Rott/Lab mix, an Austrailian Stubby Tailed Cattle Dog, a Border Collie and and German Shephard...enough said when it comes to chew todays!! LOL These animals can put a HURTING on a toy and destroy the average ones in a single play session. But not with KONG products. These are some of the best products for animals with strong jaws and sharp teeth that love to play. Yes, they can be expensive but, in the grand scheme of things, they LAST AND LAST AND LAST! The Stubby Tail loves the disc and chews on that thing like no tomorrow. The German Shephard and Collie love the toy with the peanut butter insides and the Rott/Lab loves all of them. We couldn't ask for more durable products. Even running them over with the mowing implement cannot destroy them. Quality of Ingredients Whatever they make them out of...KEEP DOING IT! You have a customer for life in us with our fleet of furry friends. Side Effects They don't eat them so there shouldn't be an side effects. They are soft but durable so there are no issues with their teeth and gums either.
