The Kodak Z885 takes great pictures & videos for a great price!

We have owned this little camera for almost three years, and it operates like a champ.  It is not too expensive, but it takes great pictures and great videos.  We have never felt the need to purchase a video camera because we are able to take quality videos with this little guy.  We have four small children, and this camera has endured their little hands and curiousity well. We do not mind that it does not have a view finder like other reviewers because we use the viewing screen for everything.  We have the lithium battery pack that must be recharged using an EasyShare printer which is sort of inconvient, but this battery has a longer life than purchasing individual re-chargable batteries.  Sometimes we have difficult printing images on our printer, but I believe that is a problem with the printer, not the camera. Overall, we have loved this camera, and we would definitely purchase it again!

The Kodak Z885 is a great camera for the photo newbies!  We have used ours all around the world and taken thousands of photos for home and business.  With its included Kodak software, sorting and uploading your pics is a snap! I would highly recommend this camera to my friends and family.

Good camera for beginners

I bought this camera about 2 years ago to replace a very simple EasyShare camera. I liked the ease of use of the EasyShare cameras but wanted something a little more advanced.  I got this one since I was on a budget and was able to get this for a good price since it was the display model. The only thing I was not crazy about at first was that there was no viewfinder. You need to use the LCD screen to take the picture. I was unhappy about that because my first camera used up the battery life really quickly when the LCD screen was used. But I quickly became used to taking pictures this way and was very happy to discover that if I used the pattereis that are geared towards electronics, the battery can last for quite a while. This camera also takes wonderful, beautiful pictures. The zoom feature is great, and gets really good close up pictures. I also like the various features like the nighttime and especially the feature that automatically takes several shots in a matter of seconds. These are great for action shots.

Great camera and easy to use...I love it!!!

I bought this camera as a replacement to a previous Kodak EasyShare camera I owned.  I have found that operating these cameras to be very easy.  This model allows you to edit photos on the camera, as well as multiple picture settings (ie panoramic, night portraits, close ups, action shots, and many more).  The display is large enough to see what you're doing without hampering your picture taking.  And the digital zoom on this is AMAZING!!  I will forewarn you that the higher the zoom, naturally the display picture looks grainy and a bit distored in the view screen, and may look a bit grainy when downloaded to your computer, but overall, it still takes GREAT pictures.  It also has a feature to act as a video recorder as well.  Unlike my previous camera, this one does have a mic attached to it, so there is sound.  I highly recommend this camera!

Good camera for everyday use.

The Kodak EasyShare Z885 is a great, little camera with lots of options that the home photographer will enjoy.  It has a large display screen and it takes clear, crisp pictures.  The only drawbacks that I discovered for this camera is that there is no viewfinder (you an only use the screen when taking shots) and the camera eats batteries like they are candy.   Other than that, this camera is a great, compact, and useful product.  Kodak always has great cameras, and this one is no different.

Easy for first time digital camera user, plenty of options on it

I am a first time digital camera user, but wanted a good one with features that I can experiment with and grow into and that I need.  This fit the bill with all the features I looked for and more. A great digital camera that also is a video recorder with microphone.  Simple to use, yet has plenty of features for those more experienced.  Takes great photos with 8.1 mp and 5x zoom.  This camera will do it all for you if you don't know anything, or you can use manual once you get a bit more experienced for some of the features.  It has those features very important to me like image stabilization, on camera cropping, red eye reduction, panorama mode, wide angle or zoom, 21 scene with 5 color modes, high ISO (up to 8000)  mode for low light or fast action., smart scene mode that selects from up to 10 available scenic modes automatically, TV quality VGA video @ 3o fps with edit and print features, 2.5 indoor/outdoor LE display. Of course it has a flash. So many features I am sure I forgot a couple!  Internal memory plus and a SD card slot, Printer and camera dock compatible. Has optional power source if you are not wandering about and can plug it in such as at Christmas time or a birthday party and take photos so you don't go through batteries  (although it doesnt eat the batteries up too fast).  So easy to transfer to my computer, plug it in and it does all the work, and with the soft ware, can edit, and much more to the photos. I just got it recently, but am soooooo happy with it.   I was using a 35mm SLR and knew how to use all the bells and whistles and manual settings, but this was all new to me.  With this, I think I will catch on fast without the frustration. I highly recommend this camera, and it is a nice compact size.
