Most HelpfulBottom-Line: If you need a compact, lightweight, versatile, 7.1MP digital camera, loaded with features, look no further then the Kodak EasyShare Z-712IS.
I loathe computer class; sounds funny coming from a self-avowed computer geek and IT Professional, but there is the bare naked truth. But occasionally...

Most HelpfulThis camera is very nice for those who want to shoot and take pictures. The automatic feature helps to do just that. There are other settings if you choose to get a little more involved in picture taking. To learn to use those features takes a little more time than I care to spend - but it's nice...
read full review »all in all the camera does a great job for the price. I got this for my ebay products and home use. most of the time you can really get a great pic. I would think that if I knew more about the right buttons to use I would get a better one.
the only real problem was when I took pictures of my son in a play. it did not bring the pictures in although the stage was bright. they where all dark . again that could be where I didnt know which setting to switch to.
the first batteries that came with this camera lasted great. but the rechargeables goes really fast. just make sure to have plenty...
read full review »We purchased this camera just prior to a trip overseas. We were definitely impressed by its versatility, the quality of the photos, and its ability to compensate for a variety of circumstances. However, the batteries wear out very quickly, and they are both expensive and difficult to find. On more than one occasion we found ourselves frustrated by a sudden death of battery power while in a situation where we really wanted photos (like in a favorite castle in France!). If you choose to purchase this camera (and its functionality will NOT disappoint you!), be prepared to spend quite a bit of...
read full review »The Kodak Easyshare digital camera was bought for me as a gift and boy was I happty. The first thing I did was opened up the manual that came with it and jumped right in on how to function this camera. Once I was comfortable with that, which did not take very long because they make it very user friendly user, I was ready to start taking some pictures. The camera was really lightweight so it was easy to tote it around with me all the time. You turn it on, then pick from many choices of what kind of photo you will be shooting and the camera adjusts the fx and aperature for you so you don't...
read full review »I purchased the Kodak Z712 IS in 2008 when my first grandchild was born. It is my third digital camera and by far the best. The pictures, whether indoors or outdoors, are clear and precise and the many capture modes are incredible. My granddaughter is in constant motion at 15 months old, and I find the sport mode works great to capture her antics.
I spent several months researching cameras before this purchase, and read as much as i could. This model received great reviews. The only downside is that it is a heavy camera, not a lightweight to fit in a purse or pocket. My husband prefers...
read full review »This camera is my third venture into the world of digital cameras and I couldn't be happier with it. I love to travel, but was always loaded down with cameras - one with a zoom lens attached, one for "point and shoot", still another for digital backup.... I looked like a picture-taking bag lady!
Compact and lightweight, this little digital camera is now going everywhere with me. The zoom and stabilization features are great - I've taken pictures of hawks in flight and zoomed in on my niece playing in a marching band out on a football field.
From both candid and portrait shots at family gatherings...
read full review »I started out loving my camera. I take pictures of my family and friends all the time. I am the one who always has the camera and takes tons of pictures. I gather the pictures and organize them to share with family and friends. It is a passion of mine to make sure that my kids have all these pictures of all our memories when they get older.
The camera started out working great, I captured so many lovely pictures. However, when taking pictures indoors, the quality isn't good. The pictures are dark. I tried to change the speed, and tried to take off auto and use a different quality,...
read full review »I thought the Kodak EasyShare Z712 digital cameara was initially okay. The photos it takes are fairly good considering the price I paid for it.
When I took my camera along while touring the United Kingdom, I used it to record a live stage show called "A Taste of Scotland". The footage looked good when I played it back on the camera, but when I returned home and uploaded the clips I'd taken to my computer, I noticed that the so-called "improved image stabilization" was terrible! The footage I'd take would cause one to think the camera man had either had too much to drink or had an extreme...
read full review »I have had this camera for two years and I love it. It is SUPER easy to use. The zoom is fantastic and takes clear pictures even from a distance. The camera does best in daylight and outdoors. It's loaded with features that the way more expensive competitors have. It has action, portrait, manual, and my favorite the Smart Scene. It also takes great video.
If I were to have any complaints, it would be that this camera does not take very good pictures in dim/dark conditions or indoors. I would also suggest NOT using AA batteries, even the lithium ones. This camera is very hard on batteries, the CRV3...
