I got my first digital camera in 2005. I got a kodak easyshare DX6340. I also got the dock with it. It was easy to get it all hooked up to my computer. It took pretty decent pictures. I was totally tickled that I could take pictures of my kids and go right in and print them. What great fun.
The first problem was the first day dropped it onto carpet. Not hard. The cheap little plastic deal that holds the battery door shut popped off. I was able to keep it shut with tape. I still liked it.
Next the dock acted like it had a paper jam when there was no paper in it. Then it would not recognize that it had paper in it. I took it back to Walmart where I bought it. They said they do not repair or replace them because they are so cheap it is not worth it. I tried getting someone from Kodak via the telephone as well as going to the website. No one really cared.
I really enjoyed the print at home priveledge so I went and got another set-camera and dock. I dropped this camera hard and the lens would no longer open. So I used the old camera with the new dock. The new dock printed about 100 photos then did the same thing as the first.
Long story short I went through 3 cameras (I did not drop the third camera, it just got tired) and three docks (the third did the same as the first two) in about three years. I had my last 35 MM camera for about 25 years so this temporary camera thing is not satisfactory to me at all. I would not recommend any of the three digital cameras or docks I got from Kodak.
Now I have a Cannon!
