This is a great camera for zoom shooting when you are a far distance from your subject but need to zoom in such as when you are watching your children play in back yard and you see them doing something cute and you want to shoot them without their knowing it . This is great for that or for close ups of new baby . I have used it for both with amazing results .
It shoots fair to good video when you want video but do not have your camcorder handy .
I used it to take pictures and video at the scating rink to show my husband taking our 4 year old Grandson on his first scate lesson . Captured them both falling and also learning together how to scate .Downloads and Tranfers well so you will have a record for years to come .
The one great drawback to this camera is that it eats batteries . They say it can take several kinds such as AA , N-MH,and CRV3 but I have found the Litium CRV3 Battery pack to be the best and it doesn't eat those the way it does regular batteries .
This camera is small and will fit well in a purse . I carry mine in my cell phone pocket so I always have it handy .For someone loking for a great Christmas gift to a teanager or young adult this would be great . For someone who wants the greater Megapixals and and more than 3x zoom that you find in most cameras then this one for you .
