I am someone who is very picky when it comes to buying something like a digital camera. I wanted one that had a big viewing screen, wasn't too clunky, had a good battery life, was easy to use, and preferably came in a color other than silver. This camera is just that!
The camera I bought was red, but it also comes in silver and black which gives you a nice little variety to choose from. It also has a very nice viewing screen; it's big, its clear, I love it.
The camera is also very easy for me to use. I'm not very good when something gets a little too technical, or there are too many buttons and options to choose from. This camera is great for people like me. There is a menu button right on the back where all your options are, and when you click it the information is presented very nicely for you. You can choose to have sound, different color effects for taking pictures, and it even gives you a bunch of options if you are taking specific pictures, like a baby playing outside on a sunny day. The menu is very easy to navigate through.
It is also easy to review pictures, all you have to do is press the review button, and if you want to delete the picture, you hit the delete button, there is nothing to search for. On the top there is the on/off button, and the button to take the picture, that is it. There is no clunky confusing circle button that moves to take a video, etc. Instead on the back of the camera there are pictures of a camera and a camcorder, and you can switch back and forth from these with the little switch on the side. The camera captures the sounds of the video very well by the way. There is also a zoom feature in the top right hand corner of the back of the camera, that too works very well.
One of the most important aspects would be how good the pictures actually come out- and the answer is GREAT! It offers 8 megapixel resolution for pictures, and has a built in face-detection, which you can also turn off in the menu if you don't like it. Sure you may get more precise color and detail with another camera, if you are willing to shell out $300-500. This camera can be $150-$200 depending on where you look, and the picture you get from it is well worth the money.
The only thing that could be difficult with this camera is the cursur at the bottom that you would use to review the pictures or naviagate through the menu. You can move it up, down, left, and right but sometimes your finger might slip, or move the cursur to the right instead of going up. It really isn't a big problem, it could just be an annoyance for some people.
I am a college student, so I wanted to make sure if I was going to spend money on a digital camera, I wanted it to be one that I would be very satisfied with. And let me tell you, I couldn't have wished for a better camera in this affordable price range. I am so happy with this camera. It is thin enough to fit in my pocket, very easy for me to use, a color that reflects my personality, and I don't have to plug it in to charge every time I use it. It really is a great little camera for a good price.
