What can I say? for the price I payed for this camera, I should've returned it and gotten another. Sure, the camera is 8.2 Megapixels and its "easyshare" but all honesty, this was pretty much a rip off. Yes, it is 8.2 mega pixels but the photos are very blurry! it also takes a considerable amount of time being plugged in, in order for it to be fully charged. Another problem is that most of the pictures are never in focus. What I mean is that the pictures always comes out blurry, even if it's on a tripod or you're being very still. One of the things I do like about it though is that when you're shooting to record videos, you're able to skip to and from each frame, adjust it, and then create a photo of it. All in all, this camera is "ok." In terms of taking pictures, find another one. Video recording wise, it is sub par. Take it from me, if you have the money, go do yourself a favor and purchase a better camera.

I would highly recommend this camera

This is the first digital camera I've ever had, and I'm still using it to this day. I've never had any problems whatsoever with it. It's very easy to use, especially with uploading pictures to my computer. The only (slight) drawback is that it doesn't really zoom too far, but in most cases (for me anyway) it's been close enough. As far as the rest of the problems I've seen in other user reviews, I can't say I've had that experience, and I've had mine for over a year and a half. For the price and it's easy usage, I would definitely recommend this, especially for those looking to purchase their first digital camera.

The Kodak EasyShare M863 Digital Camera is cheap and fantastic!

This is a cheap camera. If you want professional, buy a professional camera. That said, moving on: I don't take professional photos. That is not what this camera is for. This is a low cost digital camera. It fit the bill for my low needs. I've had it for going on two years and never had any problems with it. I pick it up, turn it on, take a picture, done. Works great every time and has great standby time. I don't have a lot to say. I needed a camera that was cheap, worked, took pictures of a quality I was happy with. I test this camera before I bought it. The  M863 is perfect for me. If you want more, pay more. If I had to list a negative, you can't use the camera while it's plugged in. Charging via AC or plugged into a computer. You have to wait until it finishes charging. Not a big deal.

First off,  the price of this camera makes it a good deal. Now the thing is you actually get your moneys worth. This camera takes great, clear, pictures. Its made pretty tough, because I have dropped it once or twice. The camera isn't hard to work.  Also comes in different colors.

I Love this camera!! it has a great zoom, clear pictures, many options to choose from for different types of weather, scenery, distance. My Boyfriend (a carpenter) uses it for his job, taking pictures of his work before and after. I use it for home and family outings. Its perfect for both!! Must have decent lighting for video, but you can take clips as long as your memory card allows, again picture is clear, also records sound! Would recommend to anyone!!

Kodak EASYSHARE M863 Digital Camera... I like it!?!

Okay, so when I asked for this camera for a christmas gift, and I loved it! after having it for about a year, it began to act up and not take pictures, or let me review the pictures in the camera. I stop using the camera for about 3 months, and then charged it, and then it started acting right. Still to this day the camera acts a little funny when I try to review my pictures, but it better then the issues I where having before. I camera takes great pictures and it has good zone quality, and effects that can be done to the picture right from the camera(Black and white, brown fade, ect.)  The camera is high in price also, well it was when I got it. I believe that it way be lower now, but it should have never been that much in price. Im not unhappy with the camera, I just wish I had shopped around, or got a better deal on this one. The video quality is good also, but the volume is kind of low when you play it back from the camera(not that big of an issues.)

Love this camera!

The kodak M863 digital camera has more than lived up to its name. I have had this camera for approximately a year. It has been very durable (has withstood a beating from my toddler). The pictures a very clear and crisp with a professional look to the finished product. It's trendy red in color with a 3 inch screen. The options are very easy to work/navigate (my 80 year old grandmother loves my camera!).  The 8.2 megapixels enables you to print very large photos (8x10 and larger) that look amazing. I'd recommend buying a memory card for your camera as i have so that you can store hundreds of photos. The included USB cable enables you to connect your camera to your PC and transfer photos and video directly to your hard drive. Another great option would be to purchase a photo printer so that you can immediately show your pictures off to family and friends. I recommend this camera to anyone who wants a great camera for a reasonible price.

What's so easy?

I have a Kodak EasyShare M863.  I have had it for about a year now.  I personaly don't see what is so easy about it.  I find my self not wanting to upload my pictures on my computer becase it is such a hassle.  When I first got my camera the USB cable looked use.  Then I was having problems pluging the camera into the computer.  Came to find out something was wrong with the port where the camera plugs into the USB cable.  The software that is comes with is bad as well.  I just feel as if it is to much going on.  I said last week let me try and email from the easyshare software, for the first time and I have had it for a year.  Well that didn't go well.  It took almost a half hour to get it up and going just for it to tell me that the email size was to big.  Then I said well let me try to just share the pictures on line and my friend can just get the pictures that way.  Well that didn't work either.  That took me another half hour and I just said forget it.  I ended up just sending that pictures through my email.  Then when I friend did get the picture through the easyshare she could only look at it and they were trying to get her to order the picture when she could get them for free.  I am pretty sure that it is my settings but the pictures only go to the easyshare and not the pictures that you can see on My Computer, and then it was hard to find the picture so I can upload it on to a web page.  Only positive thing I can say about this camera is that the picture come out very clear, and that is the only reason it got two stars from me.

The KodakM863 is EXTREMELY easy for the novice photographer.

I purchased the Kodak EasyShare M863 a couple of months ago as a gift to myself. I wanted to take more pictures of our child. We have a video camera, but it's not as "portable" as I want a camera to be. I've taken countless pictures on those disposable cameras, but can't seem to get them to the store to get developed, and I'm also not sure of the "quality" of the pictures I've taken. When walking out the door, I can grab the M863 and run. In the short time I've had it, I've wound up taking quite a few good pictures that I'm proud of. The onscreen instructions are easy to follow and allow me quick options in taking a shot in a variety of ways. It's also fun knowing that you can immediately delete a picture you're not happy with. I've downloaded from the camera to my computer, which is fairly easy, and I've attached some to emails. I've been very happy with the photos I've taken and look forward to capturing many more memories with my Kodak M863.

Excellent little point-and-shoot

The Kodak M863 is a nifty little digital that's small enough to slip in a pocket but gives big returns.  The 8.2 mega pixels result in good, clear shots.   The 3x optical zoom is generally powerful enough for the type of events you'd take this camera to.  The camera has no view finder but does have a nice, big view screen.  Like any digital camera with only a view screen, this can present problems in a really bright environment, since you can't clearly review your shot to make sure you got what you wanted (everyone's eyes open etc.).  There are lots of nice bonuses with this Kodak, including a face detection function.  The only negative I've found so far is based on the fact that I use the SD slot on my printer to download photos to the computer.  This is a bit of a pain because the date and time are reset every time you remove your SD card from the camera.  However, if you use a Kodak dock or a USB directly into your computer to download photos, you won't have to remove the SD card.
