The Kodak Easy Share is exactly that, easy. You almost don't even need to use the manual to get started, although I recommend it for doing anything other than just taking photos.

This camera has all kinds of neat features. You can chose whether or not to date stamp your photos. You can take pictures in bright sun or at night by adjusting the dial on the top of the camera. You can take landscape or close up photos again by adjusting the dial. You can even take action photos. The zoom will allow for subjects to be fairly far away, although there needs to be a light source that is pretty strong on the subject to do well as this camera doesn't have a flash that can travel extremely far. You can take movie clips with it, not to replace a good home movie camera, but excellent for short clips.

It comes with software for the computer that allows flexibility on how you print, save, or store your photos. It also comes with the cords to connect to the computer, and to a television through audio/video jacks. The computer cord allows you to move photos from the camera to the computer. The a/v cord allows you to show off your recently taken photos with family and friends using a television wherever you are.

The sd memory cards are not included, but absolutely necessary to take more than 20 or so photos without having to delete the internal memory on the camera. The memory cards can be a little pricey, but you only really need one and it can last indefinitely. With a memory card you can easily store around 300 photos or more depending on the size you choose to buy.

If you are new to digital cameras, I would recommend this one because of it's relative affordability, ease of use, and versatility of features.

I would also recommend getting some camera quality rechargeable batteries and a battery recharger that can be plugged in at home or in the car on the go. This camera does require camera grade batteries whether or not they are rechargeable, because it will quickly drain ordinary batteries.
