Reliable digital camera with great pics

4

I replaced a former Kodak camera with this one. I like the close ups that you can do with the 10x zoon, the crisp pictures that it takes and the videos that it takes as well. It's easy to use, and you can get a disk that allows quite a few pictures. I like printing pics and this camera takes really clear pictures. Performance I've had this camera for a few years and down load my pics for my business and personal use as well. I use a kodak printer dock, that you can't buy any longer, and have printed some really great pics. Ease of Use Easy to use and lots of different pic setting depending on what you're taking a pic of. The video is really good too. Durability Keep it in a padded Lowepro bag with a strap and have taken it lots of places. Battery Life Have an extra set of recharable batteries for back up is the best. Portability It could be smaller but I like the performance of the camera so that stops me from upgrading.

great family camera at a reasonable price

I take family pictures constantly - most often outdoors at my kids sporting events. A good zoom is important to me, since I am far from the playing field. This camera is easy enough for my kids to operate, has a great zoom, stays charged a long time. After some experimenting, I can get good pictures in low light, and good indoor pictures with the many settings available. It also takes video and records sound.

Great camera for taking pictures; especially sports pictures.

I like using this camera for my son's soccer pictures.  It takes great action photos without blurring.  It has a sports mode for my sports/action pictures.  It's great!  The one thing I don't like about the camera is I wish it had more megapixels and the lens cap pops off real easy.

Great for all situations

I love this camera but I am not in-love with this camera.  It's great for all around useage, parties, outdoor, indoor, nighttime.  The manual feature is great for low-light and artistic shots and takes great pictures just for the sake of taking pictures at events.  As far as quality the video is a great feature.  the sound and video quality is good however you can't zoom in and out while in video mode.  I was also disappointed by the lens cap not staying on from the get-go and friends who have this have had the same problem.  It is defintly a major flaw.  For artistic purposes as well the low-light options are not so great.  The flash tends to wash out everything but using an opaque trash bag to cover it is a nice hack the soften the flash without spending the money on a nicer camera.  I love the night shot as well because it brings out beautiful colors except you have to hold nice and still until the second flash.  I guess the flash is one of my major concerns, however it works in most situations as long as you are not too specific.  Lanscape mode is a nice feature for lowlight actually, I use it most of the time for that because it eliminates the blur the night shot can give.  Overall I am pleased with the selection of scene modes and the selection of color options (B&W, natural, high color).  It also handle duracell batteries efficiently and I love that it isn't a wall charger so you can immediatly be prepared if mid-event you run out of juice.  It also has quick uploading and work well with easyshare.  It also takes very high resolution and quality pictures for all sorts of usage in printing.

The Kodak EasyShare Z650 is a great camera.  I have had three digital cameras over the past five years, and I finally got it right with this one.  I am not one that likes to read owners manuals, and I can say that this camera did not require me to spend an entire evening reading an instruction guide.  Great camera for the money!

Love the optical zoom!

I love this camera.  It is small enough to stick in your purse, but not too small to where you would lose it in your purse.  :-)  I love all the features on it except the night feature.  You have to be totally still for it to take a good picture on the night mode.  Otherwise it is all blurry and the picture doesn't come out at all.  I do love this camera though.  I received it for a gift several years ago and love it!  The optical zoom is perfect.  Last year I was at a college football game and I took a picture of my husband's parents sitting in their seats on the other side of the stadium.  And you could tell it was them!!!  It is awesome!

This is a nice point and shoot Kodak Camera

This is a nice point and shoot camera that is great for taking basic quick pictures. I like it because it is very easy to use but my husband who is more of a photographer than I am would prefer a camera that has more features to allow him to take fancier pictures. I have only used the SD card port in my computer to transfer the pictures so I do not have experience with how the easy share dock works. It is a conveniet size and is small enough that I can easily throw it in the diaper bag for outings with the kids. I can also easily take a picture with it while still holding the baby (it only needs one hand to hold and use). Overall this camera was what I was wanting which was a basic, easy to use camera to take every day pictures of my kids.

Not a bad camera for the price.

This camera is a decent quality, relatively inexpensive purchase, great for teens who may not take good care of things (ie: you don't want to spend a lot of money on a camera they might lose or drop). It takes pretty good pictures, but is a little slow to turn on - a really bad quality when you need to take a photo RIGHT NOW. I've also had issues with the lens cap not staying on properly, and it appears from other reviews I'm not the only person. The zoom quality is fantastic, and I really couldn't ask for it to be any better. It has lots of options, and goes into manual mode as well. I was not impressed with the software that came with the camera, and felt that Kodak could've done a much better job on software development. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it and don't regret spending the money. There are other quality cameras out there, of course, but not at the price point of the Kodak EasyShare.

This camera is ok

The camera was great for about the first year. I loved taking pictures with it. Was excited to actually have a digital camera instead of film and used it quite a bit the first few months we had it. Eventually over time the quality of the camera seemed to beginning deminishing. Now, even though it's only been 3 years, and the camera wasnot used much, the camera does not do well at all. On our last trip we did take the camera and used it, but it was just not capturing good quality photos. We actually took more and better pictures on one of our cellphones, plus it was more portable than the camera. Also the rechargable battery did not last long until we had to replace it, due to the fact that it wouldn't not hold a charge anymore. For a fairly cheap camera, it is not horrible, but I would spend the money for a decent camera next time. I really do like the fact that you can change your style of picture you are taking. The options of: sepia, black and white, and all were a very nice feature to this camera.

Great camera, crappy software

I recieved this camera as a gift for an award at work.  I would not have normally purchased a Kodak - I tend to stick to Canon, Olympus or Nikon.  However, I have been impressed with the quality of pictures that this camera takes and have grown to like it. It is a good "betweener" camera.  It has more functions and features and allows more customization for people who are interested in photography than your regular point and shoot camera.  However, it is not yet in with the DSLR cameras.  It's a good choice if you want to learn more about photography and want to take better pictures than with a point and shoot, but aren't yet ready to take the plunge and invest in a really expensive camera.  It is bigger than a point and shoot, but not as big and bulky as a DSLR so it is a good compromise. The quality of the pictures is great, and it is fairly easy to use once you read through the manual initially.  One issue that I have with the camera is that it pretty much requires you to use the Easy Share software in order to transfer your pictures to your computer.  I really dislike this software - I find it unintuitive, slow, and extremely annoying.  I would rather just be able to access the pictures directly in the memory card.  The lens cap also comes off easily, which is annoying.
