Kodak Easy Share Gallery  —

If you use Kodak Photo Gallery dot com, be aware that the company is dumping your pictures if you have not purchased $19.99 in pictures over the last year.

I suppose it is fair NOT to float those who are not buying; however, there are plenty of photo storage options online, and those spaces do not cut you off. Check out Photo Bucket or Flicker. Or, try the Google photo storage system.

I was thankful to find that Kodak Gallery had some shots saved of my Dad and the last fish he caught before he died in a traffic accident on I77. The hard copies of the photos were in the totaled truck. They obviously mattered to my dad. A friend worked on the wreck damage, but the shots were not great. I forgot about the uploads at Kodak. For that I am thankful, and it is tempting to bump the stars for that.

On the other hand, Kodak clearly does not "get" online. When I get a "buy or we dump you" email, then I look at other options. I am now regretting using Kodak online and need to shift those photos over to another online company. I thought my pictures were safe given the big name of Kodak, but I guess that's not the case.

Kodak was always kind of klunky which is why I did not use them often. It takes a long time to upload photos there. One album probably took 8 hours to edit and then upload. That was a bunch of pictures, and now I need to grab and move them. Bummer.

It was nice to be able to send the albums to family and friends. I did like that. And, I made several albums on the site. Fortunately it was not my main place to save digital photos, or I would be stuck sending Kodak $19.99 to prevent them canning my shots.

Perhaps you can't get something for free, and maybe Kodak is on the cutting edge with dumping people who upload and store pictures but do not send them money. I hope that's not the case.

I have an external hard drive, thumb drives and CDs. I don't need Kodak Gallery. Most people don't. So, when Kodak cans users who may buy shots or may want photo books and other products, that's on them I guess. Perhaps they think this will push those purchases. I think not. I'm just shopping another storage space for pics online.

I wouldn't consider it a bad deal if they had just moved forward with that business model. They set up with free storage. Then, they changed the rules. That's what I don't like. How much will they charge next year? The year after?

She will know when she logs in... they give you a message ..
saying you have to buy so many prints by a certain date ... to keep your account active.
It varies depending how many prints you have online. max is $ 19.95 per year.
Then they don't remind you again for 11 months.

I have 6 years and thousands of Photos on Kodak Gallary ( It used to be called Kodak Easy Share).
When I heard their new policy for charging, I did not like it.
It is not a flat fee per sa -- you have to buy $ 19.95 worth of photos a year on max... less if you don't have many photos stored.
Howerver:
o It is - even at max $19.99 a year. ( $1.66 a month -- not the $4.95 a month charged by Dropshots

So It is reasonable to pay for the storage... Their prints are $ .15 cents ussually as I recall. Or less under some plans. Great Quality

I had been planning to try Kodak but I'm glad I procrastinated now. Ouch. I'm glad you had the fishing pictures too.

If she's made orders, she will probably be fine. It $19.99 I think per yr to keep it active. I just think they should have said that up front rather than have people store there and then can their photos.

This is good to know. My sister-in-law uses this and I bet she doesn't know this. I will let her know. Thanks!
