One of the reasons I always shyed away from buying a second printer is the high cost of ink cartridges. So until recently in 2008 I had been without a printer for almost eight years.
When I saw the 30 minute infomercial late one night about the EasyShare 5300 Kodak printer offering black & white ink cartridges at $9.95 each and $14.95 each for color, my ears perked up. I watched the infomercial, watched the comparisons and ended up buying one later in the week.
Yes, it is true. This printer from Kodak uses ink cartridges from the prices I stated above, sold in most retail stores. Their claim is that not only is their Kodak ink cheaper but will last on photos and documents for years longer than regular inkjet cartridges, due to an ink that Kodak has developed. You also get about 50% more photos/documents than you would with the expensive ink cartridges most stores sell today. That is their selling point and it is all true.
So, I am writing this review to say this was a smart purchase and since buying it I have been knocking out anything and everything with my Kodak printer, and never worrying about the cost of buying an expensive ink cartridge again. In the back of my head I know that I will only have to pay $9.95 for black & white or $14.95 for color.
The printer itself is fairly easy to operate, scans come out beautifully, and I no longer need to walk to the corner liquor store to buy an 8 cent copy. Nor do I have to spend 40 cents for a color copy at my local strip mall. I do it all now with Kodak EasyShare 5300.
I highly recommend this product to ALL!
