Point blank, it's just easier. Packaged sides just make it all easier. Sure I could make a rice dish myself, with some rice, a little broth, etc. but on a busy night, it's a little bit of work, and sometimes by the time you buy it all, it's more expensive than the packaged stuff. I try not to use them more than once or at the very most twice a week, though. Now with Knoll Sides, Sides Plus Veggies, it has that extra added bonus of the veggies in there. This week I tried Roasted Chicken Rice With Harvest Vegetables.
