Knorr Sides Plus Veggies —
IntroPoint blank, it's just easier. Packaged sides just make it all easier. Sure I could make a rice dish myself, with some rice, a little broth, etc. but on a busy night, it's a little bit of work, and sometimes by the time you buy it all, it's more expensive than the packaged stuff. I try not to use them more than once or at the very most twice a week, though. Now with Knoll Sides, Sides Plus Veggies, it has that extra added bonus of the veggies in there. This week I tried Roasted Chicken Rice With Harvest Vegetables.
Preparation
It really couldn't be much easier or quicker than this. Even with Rice-a-Roni, you have to sauté the rice, then add the ingredients, boil, and simmer. With the Knoll Sides, Sides Plus Veggies, I only had to add water, butter and the envelope of prepared mix, boil and simmer. It was that easy. Well, okay, even though it was that easy, I still spilled the mix all over, but that's just me and my carelessness.
Taste
The taste was good. The Roasted Chicken Rice With Harvest Vegetables was just that, chicken-flavored rice with pieces of carrots and peas mixed in, lots of carrots and peas, I'll add. The taste was good, not great, good. It tasted like .... chicken-flavored rice. Like any chicken-flavored race. Not terribly exciting, but neither is chicken, as far as I'm concerned.
Conclusion
The taste is good and it's easy to make, plus it has the added bonus of having sizable portions of veggies added. It's nothing to write home about, but if you're looking for a chicken-flavored rice dish with vegetables, it fits the bill.
