Knoebels amusement park (www.knoebels.com) gave me one of the most enjoyable and memorable days I ever had with my mother and boys. There was ride after ride that my 7 and 3 year old boys could enjoy together all day long. The park offers a per ride payment and an all-day-pass option, but does not charge an entrance fee. It has the most lovely atmosphere you could possibly imagine for an amusement park. The boys were torn whether to go on their favorite ride over and over, or to try the next one which was only a few steps away. We went the last day of July on a Thursday and had almost no waiting time for any rides. The employees were exemplary in their courtesy, there were beautiful gardens and trees everywhere, and the place was really clean. The food was fantastic and, all things considered, reasonable. You can always bring your own food and eat it at tables or even in the park! My other family members have made Knoebels an annual event, but this summer (2008) was my first time. As I parked the car, I saw my pastor and his family in the parking space next to us! His daughters who were visiting from the UK, their kids, and all of the rest of his clan was there for the day and outlasted us. There is a pool, a miniature golf course, an 18-hole course, some big coasters, a few water rides, and enough spin rides to make anyone sick! It's about 2 hours west of Allentown, perhaps 2 hours north of Harrisburg. You'll want to come back once you try it! The kids are begging me to go again. It's nice to have such a nice, non-commercial, home-feeling place to have fun.
