I wanted to teach my friend wife and her daughter how to knit but felt they needed more than just working on projects while I am around. Got them Knitting Pretty-Simple Instructions and am very glad I did. I can teach them how to knit, but when they are home alone and run into a problem, they turn to the book for help and it gets them over the terror of possibly ruining a piece. They can see how to fix a dropped stitch, repair a purled stitch in the middle of a knitted row and to make things that they didn't think to ask me about while they were here.
