I'll start off saying, have never shopped at that Kmart, but I must say I agree with the last comment. I am also, a recently previous employee of 5 years at the local Kmart. I started working there back in 2003, and when I was hired, I had to go through a week's worth of training...they wanted us to be prepared, and help us with customer satisfaction. I had quit and went back, and the second time I went back, there was absolutely no training, for anything, not even as a cashier!!! They just hired people, and not really with a standard either, they just hired people to have the enough employees. I worked with some really lazy people...ones who thought just because they showed up for work that they were entitled to their pay!!! I worked my way up to customer service, and I only ended up there by chance...an associate left for lunch and never came back, so I had ended up there without the proper training, just winging it, without the pay that customer service associates received. Working up at the front end at the service desk, I have to say is the most frustrating thing I've ever done, and I also work in an emergency room!!! To have to stand there while a customer is cutting you down, is the worst feeling in the world, to have to take what they dish out. And I'm sorry but just because "the customer is always right" isn't right in the least bit, I can't tell you how many countless times, customers don't do the simplest thing...read...like the weekly ads, WE'RE HUMAN MIND YOU, signs get missed, and the date of the sales is printed right on the signs!!! I've worked very many Saturday nights, and early (prior to store opening) Sunday mornings to set the ad and I know I've missed signs, and because of that "the customer is always right" saying, we have to give the customer the price on the sign regardless of the date being printed! Personally, that's just crap. To stay on topic though, yes service at Kmart is horrible! I had reached my limit with working at that place....
So to end this, Kmart needs to revamp themselves if they plan on surviving with Walmart's growth, and it's not even just Walmart, with Target and Kroger and all the other stores that are obviously doing so much better than Kmart.
