That's the friendly greeting I get every time I call. My coworkers and I love the Big K Cafe'. We are always doing breakfast runs over there to get biscuits and their yummy sweet tea.
I like the convenience of it being near my office. On New Movie Tuesday I run over and visit with "Mr. Electronics" and he is always so friendly and helpful in locating the movies of my choice. I don't even know the gentleman's name. One day I called him "Mr. Electronics" and it stuck.
It makes me feel good to be a regular at K-Mart. The ladies at the customer service desk always recognize me and I am always stopping to say hello to Ms. Kay or Ms. Jean. They even take the time to visit with my friends/coworkers when we are together to find out what is going on in our life.
This location has a wonderful store manager, G.T, and he is very friendly to anyone he encounters. He frequents the cafe just to visit with the customers.
I know that this store also has one of the larger restroom facilities. Most have about 2/3 stalls. This one has about 6 in the ladies room!
I shop at K-Mart for the convenience. I love Joe Boxer socks and pajamas. Most of the time I can't find clothes to fit me because they don't carry a petite line but Jaclyn Smith has a beautiful fashion line and bedroom linens.
This K-Mart has a nice size cafe and on any given morning you will find a number of senior citizens indulging in a pancake breakfast. My coworkers and I usually eat lunch there about once every two weeks. You can't beat the prices on the menu and they have awesome french fries! Stop in at a Big K Cafe and try the grilled chicken sandwich with bacon--umm, umm, good! They also show the latest movies in the cafe so I call it my lunch and movie time. During the last few months they began taking pictures of their frequent guests in the cafe' and they now have a wall of fame. Kudos to Ms. Theresa and Ms. Sheila for making our breakfast and lunches so special at the Big-K Cafe'!
I believe K-Mart will get a little more business during the Christmas holidays because Wal-Mart did away with their lay-away program so many will go to K-Mart for that feature. Speaking of the holidays: K-Mart has a wonderful Christmas selection. They turn the garden center into a Santa's Village and everything is organized by color schemes. Martha Stewart has a wonderful line of Christmas ornaments, paper, ribbons/bows, etc.
Speaking of Martha Stewart: I love the linens at K-Mart. That is where I got my master bath collection. The Ooh La La collection by Basic Essentials. I used my Simple Thanks winnings to replace the bath rug that I messed up when doing my hair. That story is in another review and I plan on doing a review on the Ooh La La collection some time soon too!
One other department I frequent a lot: The book section. Sometimes if I am waiting for a book from Amazon I will find myself drifting over to K-Mart or Wal-Mart to get a book. Wal-Mart has a larger selection but K-Mart is more convenient.
Head on over to your local Big K. If it isn't as wonderful as mine then let them know what they can do to improve it. But keep in mind--people can only take suggestions; it takes numbers and establishments to implement those suggestions and change doesn't occur overnight.
